Core Process Psychotherapy
There may be times in our lives when we experience difficulty and are in need of support. Psychotherapy offers us a safe and non-judgemental space to explore what is happening, so that we may heal ourselves.
Core Process Psychotherapy is one of the original mindfulness-based forms of psychotherapy, having been established 30 years ago. It is a contemplative practice drawing on Buddhist principles and western psychology theory.
The work is based on bringing our attention to our current inner experience and to enquire into that place. Through exploring our arising sensations, thoughts and emotions in the present moment we are able to gain a fuller understanding of the way in which we move through life. This expansion in awareness brings the possibility of change as we confront our unconscious habitual patterning and make way for a fuller and more spontaneous way of being.
Core Process Psychotherapy rests on the premise that at our core we are all inherently free and conscious. As we journey through life our core state can become obscured by the impact of the world we live in and our reaction to it. Through therapy we have the opportunity to look closely at our veils, revealing our true self.
As a practitioner of Core Process Psychotherapy I am wholly commited to working alongside others with mindfulness and compassion.
QUALIFICATION DETAILS
I am a senior MA student at the Karuna Institute, and have been in private clinical practice since 2010. Having completed the four year training in Core Process Psychotherapy I am now working towards graduation and accreditation. As a trainee I am able to offer low cost sessions.
I am fully insured and supervised and abide by the code of ethics of the Karuna Institute, which is a member of the UKCP.
