Counsellors are professionals who help individuals in their self-awareness and self-development by meeting them and understanding them on an interpersonal level.
There are a variety of styles or methods used in counselling. With an emphasis on interpersonal relationships it is important for the individual to feel comfortable and connect well with the counsellor and their individual style.
Counselling and psychotherapy are not the same practice. Whilst there are some similarities, counselling tends to focus on situations immediately at hand, events or circumstances which are pressing in the present.
Therapy consultations are confidential sessions which usually one hour. The number of sessions will depend on the needs of the individual.
