Welcome to The Leigham Practice

Our medical and complementary practice was established in 1983 and has been proving high quality care in the South London area ever since.

The Leigham Practice is built entirely upon the skills, experience and reputation of our therapists. We work with exceptional practitioners, since they provide the highest quality of care. Our practice is situated on Streatham High Road itself, a few minutes from Streatham Hill Station. We have a team of three experienced podiatrists, four senior physiotherapists, an exceptionally talented osteopathic consultant, two highly skilled acupuncturists and two excellent massage therapists. The practice is open six days a week with services running at various times during the day and evenings.


Our Services

A brief summary of our services include:

Podiatry / Chiropody: We have a team of three experienced podiatrists able to help, advice and treatment for a wide range of foot and ankle problems throughout the week. From simple needs, such as a medical pedicure or nail care, to complex problems of the foot and ankle, our team have the skills and experience to treat the vast majority of foot problems.

Nail problems such as thickened, irregular or ingrown nails can be cosmetically improved, reshaped or permanently corrected if troublesome. Dermatological conditions such as verruca, athlete's foot and bacterial problems can be diagnosed and treated, and corns and callus removed. Foot and ankle pains such as neuroma, plantar fasciitis, metatarsalgia, tendonitis and heel pain can be resolved. We also care for foot problems associated with health problems such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and neurological problems. We have a biomechanics specialist in-house who helps improve problems associated with walking and running, such as sprains and injuries, hard skin, blisters, bunions, hallus limitus, and ankle equinus. We also work closely with a consultant podiatric surgeon offering surical solutions to problems such as bunions, hammer toes, claw toes, neuroma and other complex problems. Physiotherapy: Our team of physiotherapists all hold senior NHS positions and are all BUPA Approved, as is our practice. They offer effective treatments for a wide range of problems such as tendonitis, tenosynovitis, RSI, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, back pain and sprains and strains. They also manage sports injuries, work-related injuries. Our team use specialist techniques such as acupuncture and pilates as well as therapeutic lasers and ultrasound to reduce healing times and speed recovery. Osteopathy: Our osteopath is a member of both the General Osteopathic Council and the British Osteopathic Association and offers both osteopathy and cranial osteopathy for a diverse range of musculo-skeletal problems and children specific conditions. From the postural and physical changes that affect women during pregnancy, they are also consulted by parents concerned with colic, sleep problems and other common conditions. Our prize winning osteopath qualified with a 1st Class degree, has a further degree in Health and Fitness, is also trained in acupuncture and is one of the few in the country to hold an NHS position. He treats back and spine problems, muscle and ligament problems associated with many sports, occupation, driving and sleep positions. Acupuncture: Our acupuncturist team consist of two experienced members of the British Acupuncture Council. Whilst their training is in Traditional Chinese Medicine they have an appreciation of western approaches to health and can treat and support a wide spectrum of health problems. Their holistic approach offers help for headaches and migraines, anxiety and stress-related problems. They offer treatment for digestive problems such as ulcers, nausea, irritable bowel syndrome and constipation. Acupuncture can be used to help joint and muscle problems such as back pain, arthritis and other arthritic and rheumatological problems. Our team also has a specialist interest in female health and fertility problems, chronic conditions and allergies, including hayfever. Massage Therapy: We have two therapists who work together to offer unique treatments tailored to your needs or preferenced. We offer reflexology, aromatherapy, swedish massage, deep/strong massage, indian head massage, pregnancy and ante-natal massage and a wide range of massages for specific problems such as female health, anxiety/stress and sports. Whether you require soothing, stimulation or relaxation, our team can adapt to deliver a massage that is unique to you. Lifestyle Treatments: How you feel on the inside influences how you look on the outside, and it's also true that how you look and feel on the outide influences how you feel on the inside.
