About Holistic Massage Therapy Leicester
My name is Liz Knight. I am a fully qualified, professional massage therapist, offering exclusive ladies only mobile massage therapy service in the comfort of your own home.
I'm based just off the A50 in Leicester and covering a 10 mile radius of this area including the out laying villages of Glenfield, Groby, Kirby Muxloe, Anstey, Ratby and Desford. Other areas of Leicester are also considered; please contact me for more information.
Philosophy
I aim to treat the whole body in order to maintain a balance between the physical, the mental and the emotional. I offer a variety of classical and traditional Holistic therapies, which can provide all of us with benefits ranging from relaxation to helping the body recover from stress or illness.
Each treatment begins with a personal holistic consultation, where the therapist will listen to and understand your needs.
We will work together to agree a treatment plan, which could be one or a course of treatments.

Swedish Massage
Is a combination of various movements used to manipulate tissues for both local and overall benefit. The movements range from gentle relaxing movements to invigorating or revitalising movements depending on the desired effect.
Benefits – Will relieve your tension and stress and can be both relaxing and revitalising. Will help boost circulation and your immune system.

Deep Tissue Massage
Is a form of massage that focuses on releasing the deeper muscles, tendons and ligaments of the body. Pressure movements are used to release chronic muscle tension and injury through slow deep strokes. Deep Tissue massage is also used to free trapped nerves, oxygenate muscles and allows the spine and joints to relax into alignment.
Benefits – Will relieve tension and stress and correct your postural bad habits. Can help you with chronic joint or muscles injuries and help remove lactic acid leading to pain and stiffness.

Traditional Thai Foot Massage
Is an ancient form of therapeutic healing. Its roots are in India from where it was brought to Thailand over 2000 years ago by Ayurvedic doctors and Buddhist monks. Traditional Thai Foot massage uses thumbs, hands and a wooden acupressure tool. Massage is applied to the lower legs and feet through rubbing, kneading and stretching techniques.
Benefits – Will help improve the circulation in your legs and feet. It can help to boost your immune system, remove toxins and increase oxygen in your body.

Seated Acupressure Massage
Is a technique which helps to reinvigorate and balance the flow of energy or life-force throughout the body. The therapy works on the back, arms, hands, neck and head by using pressures along the body’s meridian lines. This helps to promote the release of endorphins and important mood regulating hormones.
Benefits – Can help to reduce your backache, headaches and fatigue and at the same time helps to boost your immune system, remove toxins and reduce your stiffness and improve your flexibility.

On-site Massage
Is the ideal form of massage for the busy workplace environment. The client remains dressed and no oils are used, therefore the client can return to their normal daily duties as usual. Hot and Cold Stone Massage
Hot stone massage dates back over 3000 years. Ancient civilizations believed that hot stones were beneficial for cleansing the body, relaxing the heart, grounding the soul and soothing the mind. The treatment originates in ancient India and China and more recently North American Indians, who used hot stones in their rituals.
The stones are made of Basalt rock, which has been formed when molten lava cooled following a volcanic eruption.
The heat from the stones gently penetrates the skin and muscles, helping you to relax and de-stress.
Other benefits include, increased circulation, detoxification, decrease in pain perception, muscle spasm and muscle stiffness.

Reiki
Reiki is a safe, gentle, non-intrusive hands-on healing technique, which uses energy to treat physical ailments without using pressure, manipulation or massage. It is a holistic system for balancing, healing and harmonising

The Japanese word Reiki (pronounced “Ray Kee”) is often translated as “universal life-force energy”
