Pro Balance was established in August 1999, with the aim to provide an environment for highly motivating personal training. Pro Balance is situated in the heart of Manchester City Centre and is an exclusive purpose built gym dedicated to one-to-one fitness training.

We provide up-to-date training methods and equipment to produce results for you. From cardiovascular and resistance machines to free weights and specialised equipment.



Everything at Pro Balance is based on catering for the individual. You will have your own ongoing file containing personalised training programmes and schedules, fitness and lifestyle assessment data, and any other information relative to your health and fitness needs. You will be closely monitored by your own trainer to maximise your energy spent in the gym and minimise time wasted.

The Fitness Studio and Facilities @ Pro Balance

Pro Balance is a private fitness studio providing a prime training environment with no distractions or interruptions. The service is both professional and confidential.

  • Health Assessment Kit

All machines including weight training equipment are kept in excellent working order and are maintained and cleaned regularly.

  • We are equipped with a variety of resistance machines, cables, and free weights. Cardio equipment includes a Treadmill, Water Rower and Tunturi Exercise Bike. Heart Rate monitoring can also be used so goals are reached quickly.

  • The Pro Balance Fitness Studio also has individual changing and shower areas with complimentary toiletries.


    Meet the trainers @ Pro Balance


    Andrew Jeffries has over 10 years experience within the fitness industry. Prior to Pro Balance Andrew worked as a Gym Instructor at the Village & Leisure Club (Hyde), and at Prema Health Club (Manchester).

    Andy has gained experience in all aspects of fitness training including weight management, circuit training, spinning, ski-fit training, heart-fit training, sport specific fitness, muscular development, and speed conditioning (currently working for Bury FC as a fitness/speed conditioning coach).

    Andy has been a keen athlete and ran at a high standard representing Trafford Ac and Stockport Harriers. His own motivation for sport and fitness training has helped him achieve success at club and county level, thus influencing his choice of career.

    Chris Turner completed the Premier International Diploma in Personal Training and Sports Massage Therapy in February 2007. Since then, Chris has worked at Total Fitness in Warrington and also trains clients in their own homes.


    Chris qualified as a Taekwondo instructor in 1996 and is also a keen rock climber and distance runner, he strongly believes in developing a body that not only looks good but functions well.

    Chris aims to make your training as fun and effective as possible. He is a qualified Boxercise instructor, and many clients have seen the benefits of this safe and stimulating form of exercise as an effective stress reliever.

    Jason Mayoh joined Pro Balance in 2006, he gained his premier training diploma in personal training in 2004 and has since worked in various areas within the fitness industry from advanced gym instructor to college lecturer.

    Jason is also an experienced martial arts instructor and has competed in the world, European and many national competitions as a British team member. He now has around 85 students from 5 years to adult as well as a female British champion and two British male bronze medallists.

    As a personal trainer he is very motivated and aims to achieve client's goals with fun and challenging workouts. Apart from personal training Jason is also qualified in Circuit training, sport massage, ultrasound therapy, core stability and Hopi ear candling.


    Lisa Riddall has been working 1:1 with clients for over 3 years now, essentially within the clients own home, but now offering City Centre services here at Pro-Balance. Her experience has been gained through a love of Triathlon and general interest in keeping fit and healthy.

    Lisa is fully qualified in all areas of Personal Fitness Training, including Nutrition and Weight Management, Gym Instruction, Pilates, Yoga and Circuit Training. She has also completed British Triathlon Association Level 1 Coaching, and enjoys coaching and writing training programmes for clients within the 3 triathlon disciplines in particular.

    In addition to physical training, Lisa also has Diploma and Masters Certificates in Hypnotherapy, and helps a large number of clients to make positive changes to their lives, effortlessly and easily.
