Specialist Areas

  • Seated Acupressure Massage

This versatile form of massage incorporates traditional sports and Swedish massage with acupressure and shiatsu techniques combined producing an amazing, stress busting massage. It is the most popularly requested type of massage, due to its adaptability and visually it is very striking, which provokes immediate interest.

The chair massage treatment includes a variety of pressure techniques to the back, shoulders, neck, arms, hands and scalp promoting a feeling of rejuvenation, being refreshed and revitalised.
Plus, this massage is very beneficial where a more remedial approach is required. Deep tissue massage techniques are used to release muscular tension or pain whether sports related, stress related or simply put down to poor posture. Overall it is an energising massage which directly relieves aches, pains and daily stresses.

No oils are used and the recipient remains fully clothed whilst seated in an ergonomic massage chair which provides excellent support as it is completely adjustable. Consequently, this treatment is ideally suited for the workplace or similar environments, as each treatment can be adapted to suit the individual, so that even “mini” 5 to 10 minute sessions are extremely beneficial.

  • Foot Healthcare

    Chiropody / Podiatry

Podiatrists (although the name chiropodist is familiar to many, and means the same as podiatrist) are highly skilled professionals trained to prevent, diagnose, treat and rehabilitate abnormal conditions of the feet and lower limbs. Podiatrists diagnose and manage problems ranging from gait disorders in children to foot pathologies in the elderly; from overuse, injuries in sport, to ulceration in patients with diabetes. They prevent and correct deformity, keep people mobile and active, relieve pain and treat infections. General treatments include skin, such as corn and callus removal, nail-care, soft tissue and connective tissue problems, and advice on footwear. Podiatrists carry out specialised work such as nail surgery and musculoskeletal assessments. They can also diagnose and treat conditions that threaten the feet of patients liable to injury or pressure related problems, as a result of medical disorders such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis or impaired circulation.

    Biomechanics

Biomechanics is concerned with preservation, restoration and development of the function of the foot and its associated structure. Biomechanics refers to an understanding of the mechanics in the body and podiatrists use this to diagnose and treat the lower limb. This is a subject that interests a lot of practitioners and covers a number of areas of practice. One area of clinical practice that focuses on biomechanics is sports injuries.
A lot of biomechanical problems are treated with orthotics. These are custom made insoles specifically for each patient that aims to improve function and reduce symptoms.

  • Indian Head Massage

This is an advanced combination of rhythmic strokes which soothe and re-balance the energy flow, very quickly calming tense and stressed individuals. It is excellent for easing muscle tension especially in the upper back, shoulders and neck where many people literally carry their burdens and pressures. This massage can be either stimulating or relaxing... or even a little of both! The therapist tailors the techniques and the priority areas to focus on, by establishing each individual’s needs prior to commencing the treatment.

Normally, the full procedure covers the upper back, shoulders, arms, neck, scalp, face and ears. Traditionally, this treatment can be performed anywhere with the recipient sat on a chair, oils are not used, as it was designed to be carried out over light clothing.

This massage has many health benefits; it helps to eliminate toxins from the body by stimulating the lymphatic system and encouraging a greater distribution of oxygen to all the tissues, boosts the immune system, increases mental alertness and raises concentration levels. It is extremely beneficial for those suffering with sinus problems, eye strain, migraines and headaches, feelings of anxiety, poor memory, disrupted sleep patterns, poor concentration levels and it even helps to promote hair growth!

Consequently, this treatment is perfect to be conducted almost anywhere where there is an available chair. Every treatment can be adapted to suit the individual, so this is an ideal stress busting “mini” treatment of 5 to 10 minute sessions which are extremely beneficial, whilst a full routine of 45 to 60 minutes is the ultimate experience!

  • Reiki

Reiki is a wonderful natural, extremely relaxing and yet energising experience! The stresses and strains of everyday life and its challenges simply melt away as you become deeply relaxed, which enables alignment and balancing of the body, mind and spirit. Commonly our life – force energy can become depleted leaving us feeling tired and for some debilitated, having a Reiki treatment enables the body to recharge and rebalance the energy in and around us, bringing strength and harmony to our immune system.

Reiki is not a massage; it is purely an energy therapy. No clothing is removed and no oils are used. This treatment is superb for anyone and everyone, whether feeling a little under the weather or perhaps simply wanting to experience something quite extraordinary! It can be performed anywhere, preferably in a quiet area either with the recipient seated or laid down so is suitable for most places of work. It has an immediate effect giving feelings of rejuvenation and usually boosting confidence and an overall sense of wellbeing. Extremely beneficial; a whole group of people can benefit from this amazing treatment.

  • Reflexology

Reflexology is a gentle and relaxing treatment which involves the skilled application of pressure to specific points usually on the feet, sometimes the hands or even the ears as reflex points are found all over the body. Reflexes correspond directly to the systems and organs within the body, through this enjoyable massage, reflexology helps restore and supports the body’s natural balance. It is particularly good for quick de – stressing of the mind and body, assisting with the natural flow; refreshing and revitalising. Following illness, stress or injury the body becomes imbalanced and may take time to fully recuperate; reflexology is an ideal treatment to help aid a speedy recovery.
This wonderful treatment is very popular in the workplace, especially where employees are on their feet a lot and having to wear specialist footwear, it is particularly welcome to feel lighter and free of tension in their feet giving them more of a spring to their step. Alternatively, for those who are working their hands continuously on a keyboard, a soothing hand massage is fantastic for releasing stiffness and potential repetitive syndrome issues.

  • Hypnotherapy

    Hypnotherapy in the Office

Personal development through better thinking: motivation, stress busting, confidence, smoking cessation, enhanced concentration, greater energy, weight control and optimism.
These are just some of the key areas which can be supported and greatly improved.

With stress being a #1 factor responsible for high levels of absence, it is a major area of concern and requires sensitive handling to help those already affected and prevent others from becoming a victim. Hypnosis is an effective technique to use in a corporate environment which will immediately add value to a business, by helping staff to achieve the mental attitude and even physical health required to gain their full potential in their given roles. It assists with relaxing the state of mind and helps to retrain thought processes, leading people to think smarter without being influenced by anxieties. Also, hypnosis can provide the infrastructure for staff to learn how to motivate themselves, improving creativity and boosting their confidence which are essential attributes in all levels of any business. Mental blocks can be common and in a sales environment fatal for the individual(s) concerned and unsatisfactory for the company’s objectives, a hypnotherapist can help by working with either individuals or groups to help establish targets and goals at an instinctive unconscious level where they become integrated within each person’s individual belief system. Couple this with confidence building strategies and the sales and marketing teams are empowered to progress beyond the confines of their comfort zone and achieve substantial positive results.

Hypnosis is a state of mind not dissimilar to the state we experience when daydreaming. It helps by speeding up our ability to move thought from our conscious process to our instinctual unconscious process. Habits that are hard to break and limiting beliefs about self which naturally intrude upon our lives in various ways, can be replaced with more positive thoughts and behaviours when using hypnosis and guided correctly. It enables us to effectively address negativities which have such debilitating and in some cases devastating long term difficulties and issues, leading to a much more calm and optimistic attitude along with a useful coping method for dealing with everyday pressures, an essential ingredient for those working in customer services.

Onsite individual and group sessions are successfully conducted: one-off appointments and regular team building; weekly, monthly, quarterly as required.
