ABOUT

Dr Eva Detko, PhD, MSc, BA (Hons), DipHyp, NLP, ITEC, CThA, BIH, CHNC combines Clinical Hypnotherapy, Nutritional Therapy, Behavioural Psychology and where appropriate Fitness / Sport Conditioning . This approach allows Dr Eva to target a multitude of health conditions / life problems and help her clients positively transform their health and lives. Dr Eva believes that we are all very unique individuals and therefore each client requires an approach that considers their biochemical, psychological and emotional individuality. As we are all shaped by past experiences, dietary, lifestyle and socio-economic determinants, our optimal well-being is dependent on the right balance of all of these factors. Any symptoms we experience are our body’s way of telling us that this balance has been disrupted. Fortunately with the right nutritional, psychological and environmental support our bodies have an amazing ability to repair, regenerate and rebalance themselves. This form of therapy is completely natural, which means that your body responds to it readily and your results are long-lasting. Additionally, there are no nasty side effects that are often experienced as a consequence of drug therapy.

Dr Eva started her therapy training 14 years ago and during this time she has worked with a wide range of problems on both individual and group basis. She has successfully supported clients wanting to lose and gain weight. She has also worked with clients suffering from stress-related illness, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, compromised immune function, as well as digestive, skin and cardiovascular conditions. Additionally, she has worked with many recreational and professional athletes combining nutrition, psychology and sports conditioning for optimum results.

PRICING

No-obligation phone consultation (20 minutes): free of charge
Contact Dr Eva if you have any questions regarding this form of therapy, wondering if this approach is right for you or want to discuss if your particular problem can be helped. All consultations are held in the strictest confidence.

Initial session (1.5 hours): £80
A detailed history covering all aspects of your physical, psychological and emotional health is taken, including: current health issues, medical, dietary and family history, stress factors, lifestyle habits, digestive and immune health, menstrual problems, sleeping patterns, emotional difficulties, energy and physical activity levels. The information gathered during this session allows Dr Eva to design a personalised programme addressing your current health problems and outline the steps needed to achieve your therapy goals, taking into account any time and financial limitations you may have.
This session also allows you to gain a better insight into your current state of health and it is designed to increase your motivation to take action. You receive a complimentary motivational self-hypnosis CD.

Subsequent sessions (1 hour): £65
The number, content and structure of subsequent sessions is very individual and depends on the complexity and severity of the presenting issue. Some problems / conditions may be resolved within a couple of sessions while some others may require 6-8 sessions. The action plan, which clarifies how many appointments you need to achieve your therapy goals is agreed during the first session.
Where hypnotherapy is used, you receive a recording of your session in order to enable you to continue your therapy in your own home between appointments. This effectively reinforces the therapy, reduces the number of appointments needed and produces fast results.

One-off session (2 hours): £115
This type of session may be more appropriate for clients who want support with: sports performance enhancement, nail-biting, teeth-grinding, learning relaxation / meditation, goal-setting, pre-exam or competition nerves, inability to concentrate, lack of focus and / or motivation. Each client receives a recording of their session.

Smoking Cessation: £119 (one 2-hour sessions or two 1-hour sessions)

Skype Appointments
Dr Eva has also treated clients successfully via Skype, both within the UK and internationally. Skype appointments allow clients to address their problems in the comfort and privacy of their own home, cutting out the costs and time involved in traveling to the clinic.

These appointments are equally effective and give you the same depth of experience as the clinic appointments. The only requirement is a laptop / computer with a camera and ensuring that you will not be disturbed.

FAQs

What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis (pleasant state of relaxation in which your logical / analytical mind becomes distracted and your subconscious mind becomes open and receptive to suggestions) to deliver therapy to the subconscious mind. Your subconscious is the storage area of the mind for habits, belief systems, automatic reactions and more. Hypnotherapy is a perfectly safe and quick, yet powerful, form of therapy which through changing your subconscious response helps your resolve issues, overcome stress and bad habits and positively transform your life.

What if I can’t be hypnotised?
Hypnosis is the most natural state you can be in and whether you know it or not you are regularly in and out of hypnosis in the form a light trance many times each day. For example daydreaming, driving, watching TV, reading, staring at a beautiful view, or doing anything absorbing are all light forms of trance. It is believed that 90% of people can be readily hypnotised provided they wish to be and feel comfortable with the therapist they have chosen. If you are given a suggestion which is beneficial, and emotionally and morally acceptable to you, you will welcome it. On the other hand, if it is not appropriate for you, you will reject it. Your subconscious mind is there to protect you and will not accept suggestions which are not beneficial to you.

Is hypnotherapy safe?
When administered by a skilled, professionally trained hypnotherapist, hypnotherapy is completely safe and has no side effects. Results can be usually seen very quickly and benefits are long lasting and often permanent. Hypnotherapy is recognised by the medical profession and has been used by medical and dental practitioners for many years. However, if you have a history of mental health problems it is essential that you consult your GP and or psychiatrist as hypnotherapy could be inappropriate for you.

What is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional therapy is a science-based field of healthcare that uses nutrition to prevent and manage a wide range of health concerns ranging from fatigue, weight management and stress through to diagnosed medical conditions. Nutritional therapy can help you if you want to take positive action in managing your health through making better dietary and lifestyle choices.

What are nutrients?
We obtain nutrients from our food and drink. Some nutrients provide energy, while others are essential for tissue growth and maintenance of bodily functions. Carbohydrate, protein and fat are classified as macronutrients as we need them in relatively large amounts. Macronutrients provide our bodies with energy and also the building blocks for growth and maintenance of a healthy body. Vitamins and minerals are called micronutrients as they are only needed in small quantities, but at the same they are essential to keep us healthy. Vitamin and mineral deficiencies often lead to serious health complications. There are also some food components that are not strictly ‘nutrients’ but are important for health, such as water and fibre.

Do I need to take supplements?
Supplements and herbal medicines are by no means a substitute for healthy eating. However, sometimes even with a well-structured, healthy diet, it can be difficult for the body to obtain all the nutrients it requires from food. In certain situations (e.g. chronic illness, malnutrition, nutrient deficiencies, intense physical training) use of supplements may be therefore appropriate to achieve optimal health or sport performance.
