About Me - Karen Burrows

I am a qualified Relationship Counsellor, Accredited Psychosexual Therapist and Sex Addiction Counsellor.

I have experience in working with all relationship issues and sexual dysfunctions that affect individuals and couples.I specialise in understanding and treating sex addiction for clients and offer support for their partners.

I have worked as a Relationship Counsellor and Psychosexual Therapist for Relate and as counsellor in the voluntary sector.I now have my own private practice based in Henley In Arden.

I am committed to providing counselling in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment.

If you are thinking about counselling, you may wish to arrange an initial consultation. During this time you will be able to meet me and to discuss your areas of concern and see if we can establish a therapeutic relationship, discuss if counselling would be helpful for you. This will also allow you to think about if you wish to attend on your own or with your partner. How many sessions and the frequency will also be discussed within this time.

I have an integrative approach to counselling in which I draw upon different models including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (C.B.T) Psychodynamic and Systemic theories. This enables me to identify your individual needs,to help facilitate change.

Appointments are usually weekly unless otherwise agreed and are available daytimes and evenings. I offer face to face, telephone and Skype counselling. I am available for both short and long term counselling.

I am a registered member with The British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (bacp) and a general member of The College of Sexual Relationship Therapists (cosrt). I am also a member of The Association for the Treatment of Sexual Addiction & Compulsivity (atsac). I work within their ethical framework and code of ethics.

Relationship Counselling for individuals and couples

Are you having problems in your relationship that you are struggling to cope with on your own. Relationships can provide us with the greatest happiness but can also be a source of anxiety and isolation when they start to break down.

Couple counselling can help you rebuild your relationship and stay together if you so wish. Or if you decide to separate counselling can help you achieve this in a more amicable way.

Individual counselling can help you explore your ideas and expectations around making and maintaining relationships.

As a qualified relationship counsellor I can help you deal with conflict in a safe and non judgemental environment. Communication breakdown is a common issue. Learning how to listen to each other and understanding and respecting each other`s beliefs may help resolve conflict.
