SERVICES

Welcome to
Laura Stannard Medical Herbalist

Herbalists are specialists in the diagnosis, treatment and overall management of health conditions using only plant material for healing.

Medical Herbalists are taught the same diagnostic skills as orthodox doctors; in addition to this herbalists also take the overall constitution of the patient into consideration and try to identify the root cause of a patient’s symptoms. This enables them to treat the patient as a unique individual and to develop a highly personalised treatment plan.

Herbal medicine is a safe, effective treatment which addresses the cause of the pain, not just the pain itself.

It is important to realise that Herbalists do not use herbs to treat ailments, we use herbs to treat people.

I practice holistic, integrated health care. This approach assumes that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts and that the patient has an innate ability to heal; it is my job to tap into that ability. In a consultation we will address issues of diet and nutrition, exercise, rest, play and laughter, and spirituality.
