Welcome to Derbyshire Counselling & Psychotherapy
I offer Counselling and psychotherapy to individuals, couples and groups. All sessions are confidential and I adhere to a strict Code of Ethics and Professional Practice.
Anyone can contact me directly for an informal discussion or to arrange an appointment. If I am unable to help you myself I will do my best to assist you in finding someone who can.
I am experienced in working with a wide range of people and situations including helping those who are not sure how and where to start improving their lives and those who are training to become counsellors and psychotherapists themselves.
All sessions last for 50 minutes and my fee is £45 per session. This is negotiable if you are unemployed, studying, or on a low income. Appointments are usually once a week for as short or as long a period as is required.
I have been fully accredited and registered with the UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) since 2002. I am also a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
Why Contact Me?
Some people contact me for a specific reason such as anxiety, depression, stress, loss, bereavement, relationship difficulties, anger and so on. Others may feel that their experiences of relationships, attachment, loss, separation, abuse or trauma get in the way of living their life to the full and need support to deal with and move on from these things.
There are also many people who have a general dissatisfaction or feel that something is 'missing' in life. Perhaps you repeat the same patterns over and over again, find it difficult to form and maintain healthy relationships, or simply know that there could be more depth and satisfaction to your relationships and your life than you are currently experiencing.
You can contact me for any of these reasons or even if you are not clear where to start or what to say or do, but would just like some support to become clear and start improving your life.
