About Dr Stephen Massey BSc DC

Hello, My name is Stephen Massey. I am a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) and I have a BSc First Class degree in chiropractic. I also have independent qualifications in sports massage, and craniosacral therapy.

I believe a good consultation is essential to achieve an accurate diagnosis and effective treatment plan. That is why I allow 40 minutes for this. I have a friendly approach and my treatment may involve anything from the lightest of touch to massage and manipulation. It depends on what you need to make you better. I will also give you home rehabilitation exercises and postural advice, or you may be referred to our Pilates/Spinal rehabilitation classes.

I am a member of the British Chiropractic Association (BCA)and registered with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC).

What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a primary health-care profession, so you do not need to be referred by your doctor. A chiropractor is trained to diagnose your problem and will refer you to another health-care practitioner if necessary.

Chiropractors treat problems with joints, bones and muscles, and the effects they have on the nervous system. Working on all the joints of the body, concentrating particularly on the spine, they use their hands to make often gentle, specific adjustments (the chiropractic word for manipulation) to improve the efficiency of the nervous system and release the body's natural healing ability.

Chiropractic does not involve the use of any drugs or surgery.
