Neil Ferebee Sports Massage Therapist

I am a full member of The Federation of Holistic Therapists and am fully qualified in the methods that I practice.

I achieved an Active IQ Level 4 Diploma in Sports Massage (soft tissue therapy) with the highly regarded Premier Training at there London, Finsbury centre of excellance.

Sports Massage

Sports massage has a number of benefits including preventing injury, restoring mobility to injured muscle tissue, boosting performance, maintaining the body in overall better condition and extending the life of your athletic career.

Sports massage is a simple, commonly used form of therapy popular in sport. The benefits and effects of sports massage include physical effects such as circulating blood and lymphatic fluids as well as stretching muscle tissue and breaking down scar tissue. There are physiological effects such as reducing pain and relaxing muscles as well as psychological affects which include reducing anxiety levels.

Dry Needling

I have recently passed a course on Dry Needling. So I am now available to offer this treatment. The needling is effective for chronic (long standing injuries) and I am achieving some promising results already. It is also effective for migraine relief and sinus problems.

A primary aim of Myofascial Trigger Point Dry Needling is to achieve a local twitch response, in turn reducing tension and pain. Myofascial Trigger Point Dry Needling is an effective treatment for chronic pain of neuropathic origin and has been demonstrated to have very few side effects.

So I can offer this as a 30 minute treatment including palpation and location of trigger points or I may choose to use in a regular 50 minute sports massage treatment where I believe it to be beneficial.

Kinesiology Taping

Kinesiology tape is a thin, stretchy, elastic cotton strip with an acrylic adhesive. Therapeutic kinesiology tape that can benefit a wide variety of musculoskeletal and sports injuries, plus inflammatory conditions.

Kinesiology tape is almost identical to human skin in both thickness and elasticity, which allows kinesio tape to be worn without binding, constricting or restriction of your movement.

Kinesiology Tape Benefits
  1. Pain Relief
  2. Reduced Swelling, Inflammation and Bruising
  3. Prevention or Relief from Spasms and Cramping
  4. Speedier Recovery of Overused Muscles
  5. Structural Support for Weak or Injured Body Parts
  6. Enhanced Strength and Muscle Tone in Weak or Injured Muscles
  7. Allows Athletes to Remain Active while Injured

Frozen Shoulder / Neil Asher Technique

I have recently studied the Neil Asher Technique of treating a frozen shoulder also known as Adhesive Capsulitis. His approach differs to the normal physio treatment as we treat the should by locating Trigger points in the local area and disperse of them.

For further information please go to ww.frozenshoulder.com. I now use this technique on my patients and I am enjoying some really good results.
