Reflexology

Reflexology is a complementary therapy involving the physical act of applying pressure to the feet and hands with specific finger and hand techniques. It is the technique of applying gentle pressure to the reflexes on the feet and hands that brings about a state of deep relaxation, stimulates the body’s own healing processes and helps a person to return to a state of balance and well being.

Thai Foot Massage

Thai Foot massage is a powerful and stimulating therapy which originated in India and was later introduced to Thailand over 2000 years ago. It was practiced by Ayurvedic doctors and Buddhist Monks. In a Thai Foot massage, various massage techniques are applied to the lower legs and feet, stimulating pressure points, energy lines and Sen lines using the thumbs, hands and a wooden acupressure tool. By working on these points on the feet, tension is eased in the body and balance restored.

Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage is an ancient art which was traditionally practiced in India over 1,000 years ago. It is based on the natural healing system of Ayurveda. In India, it was traditionally practiced by the women in the house. Indian Head massage focuses on the upper back, shoulders, arms, neck, scalp, ears and face. Gentle yet firm rhythmic movements are used to stimulate acupressure points which in turn have a therapeutic effect on the body, inducing a deep sense of relaxation.

Nutrition For Everyday Living

Our bodies are in a constant state of renewal. Food provides the raw materials for building and regenerating our bodies. Many studies have shown that dietary changes and nutritional supplements can restore and maintain health and wellbeing, additionally helping to treat a range of everyday conditions. Good nutrition is the key to vibrant health and wellbeing and can also be effective in preventing and treating serious conditions.

About

Louise started her complimentary therapy training over 10 years ago. After suffering from chronic back pain, she found that a combination of Kinesiology, Accupunture and Massage helped alleviate the pain and symptoms. This experience inspired her to train in ‘Touch for Health’ Kinesiology with The Academy of Systematic Kinesiology (TASK) and later to train as an ‘Holistic Massage’ Therapist (ITEC).

Her approach to health is based on a philosophy that ‘prevention is better than cure’. She believes in treating a person holistically. By treating the whole person – physical, spiritual and emotional – and not separating everything, you’re helping the body to restore and balance itself naturally. She has also studied Bach Flower Remedies with the Bach Centre and Reiki. Her interests include: Chakra Healing, Hatha Yoga, Pilates, Theta Healing and Meditation.

She is a member of the Association of Reflexologists (AOR) and The Guild of Holistic Therapists.
