About Me - Lucy Trend



Lucy Trend is a teacher level member of the Register of the Shiatsu Society MRSS(T) and a member of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC – the Department of Health recommended regulatory body). She is Well Mother practitioner and teacher for Scotland and Northern England.

Lucy’s has been practicing and teaching in Glasgow since 1997. Her background is in dance performance and movement therapy. She qualified as a Shiatsu therapist in Montreal, Canada in 1996 and since then has been committed to continuing professional development. She has trained with Thai masters in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand since the year 2000, most recently visiting for a one month study of Thai detox massage in 2009.

She is also an ante natal and birth doula, she trained with Suzanne Yates of Well Mother, and also with Michel Odent and Lilliana Lamers.

She teaches at the Glasgow and Edinburgh Schools of Shiatsu, and runs Thai Massage Training Scotland in Glasgow, and is Wellmother teacher for Scotland and Northern England. She also holds corporate team building and self-development training for private and public sector organisations across Scotland.


About Shiatsu Glasgow



Shiatsu is a traditional Japanese meridian therapy massage, which stems from the same ancient oriental principles as acupuncture, but without needles! Studies have shown that shiatsu is a safe therapy that improves health and wellbeing. It can help with the management of a variety of conditions, from specific injuries through to more general symptoms of poor health.

Treatments are 1 hour - £45

Traditional Thai Yoga massage is a dynamic healing art involving massage techniques, gentle pressure and passive manipulations that resemble the asana stretches of yoga. It is a truly rewarding experience which leaves you more stretched, relaxed & in balance. The receiver wears loose clothing. 90 mins £65 or 2 hours £80

At conception and during pregnancy a woman’s deeper reservoirs of energy are drawn upon to prepare her body to support her growing baby. Shiatsu can enhance the flow of this energy, promoting fertility and benefiting all stages of pregnancy, through to post natal and baby treatment.

Shiatsu treatments are valuable throughout the childbearing year and can help support women with common difficulties such as:

About our Training Courses:



Thai Yoga Massage Diploma
This course runs in Glasgow on alternate Sundays 10.30am-5.30pm yearly from Mid October 2016 to end of March. 12 Sundays in total.

Thai Foot Massage Certificate
This is a two day course. It runs twice a year in Spring and Autumn.

Traditional Thai Therapies
various standalone modules run on Saturdays, between October and March every year.

Pregnancy Massage Diploma
This course is special because it allows graduates to work with IVF, first trimester, birth, post natal, and high risk clients. It is 4 days, with continuing study and peer support online. It runs twice a year.

On-site Seated Acupressure Massage Diploma Course
A ‘must have’ Diploma for any massage therapist. It is a skill that is portable, flexible, convenient, and most importantly, in demand! his two day course runs every year int he Autumn.
