Sheffield Yoga Centre provides year-round classes and workshops taught by certified and experienced teachers, which are suitable for everyone from complete beginners to intermediate students and trainee Yoga teachers
Sheffield Yoga Centre is a fully equipped Iyengar Yoga centre situated in the heart of Walkley, Sheffield. A peaceful and welcoming building, the centre has two lovely Yoga studios (which are available to hire), cosy meeting and changing areas, a kitchen and a fully stocked Yoga library. Sheffield Yoga Centre seeks to maintain the the highest standards of Iyengar Yoga tuition as established by the world renowned creator of Iyengar Yoga, Yogacharya BKS Iyengar.
Classes taught at Sheffield Yoga Centre include:
Beginners Classes - Monday 6.30 - 7.45pm, Wednesday 8.00 - 9.15pm, Thursday 6.00 - 7.15pm, Friday 10 - 11.15am, Sunday 4 - 5.15pm
General Classes - Tuesday 6.00 - 7.30pm, Thursday 7.30 - 9.00pm
Women only classes - Wednesday 9.30 - 11.00am
Older and Stiffer Classes - Tuesday 11.30 - 12.30pm
Theraputic Classes - Tuesday 4.15 - 5.30pm
Intermediate Classes - Monday 7.30 - 9.30pm
Regular Iyengar workshops are also held throughout the year with fully qualified and experienced visiting Yoga teachers, and we also provide introductory level courses which are suitable for complete beginners to Iyengar Yoga. Our introductory courses for 2011 include:
Runners, Climbers and Cyclists - Starting Thursday 6th January 2011, 6.15 - 7.30pm
Lunch Time Intro Course - Starting Monday 10th January 2011, 1.00 - 2.15pm
Evening Intro Courses - Starting Wednesday 5th January 2011, 7.45 - 9.00pm; Wednesday 12th January 2011, 6.15 - 7.30pm
QUALIFICATION DETAILS
Sheffield Yoga Centre Director, Frances Homewood, has over 20 years' experience teaching Iyengar Yoga, as well as over 6 year's experience teaching theraputic-based Iyengar Yoga. Frances is also a fully qualified Assessor and Teacher Trainer for the Iyengar Yoga Association (UK).
All of classes are taught by fully qualified Iyengar Teachers who hold the Iyengar Yoga Certification Mark as well as a range of Introductory-level and Intermediate-level teaching qualifications.
The Certification Mark is a registered trade mark awarded to teachers who are approved members of the Iyengar Yoga Association (UK). Only properly trained and certified teachers who have maintained their professional development are legally permitted to use this logo.
