About Us

Recently Karen has trained people for the Moonwalk, for marathons, triathlons, for climbing mountains in Borneo and for expeditions in Canada and Sweden. She is equally happy to help you finish your first 5km run or even just start you on the road to making physical activity an enjoyable part of your life. Prefering to work with individuals who are new or returning to exercise after child birth or other life changes, and specialising in finding a completely unique plan for each client, Karen prides herself on the positive feedback she gets from people.

Karen is a post-natal specialist and has helped hundreds of new mums to get back into shape after giving birth, providing both physical and emotional support. Her clients include groups in Buggyfit classes and individuals in their own homes or outdoors. Karen has been involved with Buggyfit for over 4 years and now runs 5 classes a week in Stroud and Cheltenham in Gloucestershire. She has two children herself, and so understands the difficulties of juggling family lives and fitness, and is insured for you to bring your buggy with you if necessary.

She is a fully qualified and insured personal trainer and advanced instructor with further training in circuit training, gym instruction, torso training and core stability, pre and post-natal fitness, nutrition and weight management, sports massage and health related fitness for children

Member of REPS at Advanced Instructor Level 3.

Karen is also a fully trained bushcraft and survival instructor and runs courses in Wales, Scotland and England as well as international expeditions to Europe, Borneo, Canada, Tanzania, the Sahara Desert and the USA. She also holds a 2 day mountain/outdoor first aid course certificate. Karen's public liability insurance is provided by Fit pro.

Massage

Stressed out, tense, Tight muscles, or just want to be pampered? A Swedish massage can be relaxing or invigorating. Can treat you whole body or just concentrate on those areas you feel need it. back, shoulder and neck massage can be particularly beneficial for tension headaches, and general tightness in the area caused by stress. Massage can also be really effective at clearing toxins and thus improving the appearance of the skin and reducing cellulite.

Personal Training

It may be less expensive than you think to have a personal trainer- sessions can be arranged from once a month to three times a week to suit your pocket and your individual needs. Some people find that an initial consultation, fitness test and programme is all they need to motivate themselves, whilst others prefer more regular contact and the encouragement that brings.

I like to see people in their own homes or workplace, which saves time and the additional costs of gym membership, and find that getting out in the fresh air is a great psychological boost for most people.

I pride myself on the personal approach Sharp Fitness takes to training. After a comprehensive questionnaire and assessment I will devise a programme tailor made for you. Whether your goal is to run a marathon or just to be fit enough to keep up with the kids you can reach it.

Everybody has something which will work for them and you won't have to do it alone. Even if you choose a session a month you will receive regular calls and/or emails to check on your progress and will get a prompt reply to any queries you may have.

The main thing about any regime that you start is that it is enjoyable, safe and effective and at Sharp Fitness we make fitness fun.
