About your Yoga Practitioner

Hannah Edge

I am a yoga teacher, teaching in Nottingham and Newark.

Yoga is amazing for calming the mind, strengthening the body and becoming more flexible. Yoga improves fitness and helps promote health in the body, keeping it young. Yoga helps us connect with body and mind, helping us to deal with and remove stress. Yoga also empowers us to live a fulfilling, loving and empowering life.

Each of my yoga classes will involve relaxation, pranayama and asanas and will be a great way to unwind after your weekend and prepare yourself for your week ahead.
Each yoga class will be accessible to beginners and intermediates, with a focus on working within your own range of movement and limitations rather than trying to attain the perfect posture. The asana practice will involve strengthening flow sequences together with more restorative postures, with encouragement to focus your mind on the present moment throughout.

I am registered with Yoga Alliance UK and have a particular interest in using yoga to assist the body in becoming calm and healthy from the inside out.



Pregnancy Yoga

Pregnancy is an amazing time and yoga during pregnancy will have amazing benefits for both you and your baby.

Yoga postures are adapted to avoid overstretching or straining your muscles, to prepare you for birth and assist with common discomforts during pregnancy including back ache, circulation and digestive issues. During pregnancy these postures will increase your flexibility, strength and energy and they will also prepare your body for birth. Breathing techniques teach you to connect with your breath which not only increases oxygen for you and your baby but will also help you to relax. Relaxation at the end of each class will nurture you and teach you techniques to help you relax during birth.

Each class will be within a nurturing and supportive environment so you have the freedom to rest or change position if discomfort occurs. Classes will teach you techniques to help you through an active birth, helping you learn the optimal conditions for pregnancy and birth. During each class you will be connecting with your baby and noticing the effect of your movements on your baby.

Postures and breathing techniques used during class can be used by you at home when needed and during birth.

Classes are suitable for all fitness levels however please check with your GP or midwife that they are happy for you attend. Classes are suitable for those at least 12 weeks into pregnancy. Please bring a blanket and cushions so you can be comfortable and supported during postures and relaxation.
