Diet and lifestyle can have a major impact on our health and well-being Simple, achievable changes to your diet can make all the difference to health issues or weight loss goals. Get in touch for a free, no obligation discussion of your health needs and find out whether nutrition support can help you.

Consultations

Consultations are completely confidential and conducted in a supportive environment to really get to the root of your health concerns.

The initial consultation will take a detailed look at all aspects of your heath and what you are trying to achieve. Advice will be given on how to change your diet with simple steps, fact sheets and recipe ideas as appropriate.

My philosophy is to heal the body with nutritious food and dietary changes where possible in the first instance. In addition, supplements can help provide nutrients where a deficiency is present or where extra nourishment is required to support a condition.

Any dietary changes or supplement suggestions will be tailored to ensure they are achievable for your lifestyle, budget and personal preferences.

Fees

Initial consultation (up to 90 minutes): £48
Follow up consultations (up to 45 minutes): £35

What to expect

The first appointment will involve a detailed discussion of you past and current health status and address your main health concerns or goals. A detailed questionnaire will be conducted to build up a full picture of your health which will inform the nutrition programme.

A personal nutrition plan is then developed. We will work together to ensure it is tailored to your specific needs. It may include alternative food choices, methods of cooking or recipe ideas as well as how to incorporate the diet into your own lifestyle.

Patients have a follow-up appointment approximately 4 weeks after the initial consultation. The need for subsequent follow-ups vary according to the condition and will be agreed with the patient as appropriate.

Diagnostic testing

Diagnostic tests are occasionally used with nutrition patients to help clarify health conditions or deficiencies or provide added reassurance that a course of action is appropriate. Testing can also be a useful opportunity for an ‘MOT’ to check a patient’s general health status. Home testing kits are used which are sent to a laboratory for analysis.

There is an additional cost for testing services over and above the nutrition consultation fee.

About

Ruth is passionate about food and the body’s natural ability to heal itself given the right environment and nutritional building blocks.

Ruth is a fully qualified, insured nutritionist who trained at the College of Naturopathic Medicine in Brighton and London. Ruth’s training focussed on a holistic view of the body, addressing the root cause of illness rather than just the symptoms to bring the body back into its natural state of balance.
