Welcome to Putney Counselling

I offer a first session without commitment. This is a chance to explore why counselling may be helpful for you and to assess whether we feel we are right for each other.

I work with adults on a one-to-one basis, both long and short-term. I offer day time, evening and some weekend appointments.

I am a professionally qualified and fully accredited (BACP; UKRCP) Counsellor / Psychotherapist working in private practice in Putney, London SW15 (easily accessible from Roehampton; Fulham; Wandsworth; Southfields; Wimbledon; Barnes; Richmond; Clapham and Kingston).

My consulting room is tranquil, light and airy, in a quiet house surrounded by trees and garden, in a small residential street where there is free on-street parking.

Why Therapy?

Many of us experience difficulties in our lives. Each of us is different, but these might be related to:
  • self-esteem
  • family issues
  • work problems
  • relationship issues past and present
  • identity
  • bereavement
  • health
  • loss
  • disability
  • childhood
  • difficult choices
  • life transitions
  • ageing
  • sexuality
  • dreams and disappointments

The feelings are as varied as the problems but may include:
  • low self-esteem
  • depression
  • desperation
  • stress
  • loneliness
  • sadness
  • hopelessness
  • helplessness
  • anxiety
  • meaninglessness
  • isolation
  • confusion
  • anger
  • fear
  • regret
  • guilt

These feelings can often be very difficult to manage and can in some instances lead to feelings of suicide.

If you are experiencing difficulties now and perhaps you feel there are unresolved issues from your past that you would like to understand better and/or you are wondering who you are and what you want from your life, therapy will allow you to explore these issues in confidence within a safe place with someone who is outside the situation and who will support you. This will help you to understand yourself and your concerns better so that your life becomes more manageable and more satisfying.
