Are you finding it difficult to cope at the moment? Perhaps you don't feel like "me" anymore. Counselling can help a lot.

Why not take the first step and give us a call? Our initial 30 minute telephone counselling appointment is always FREE and we would love to help you.

Each counselling session will be quality time for you to talk through your problems in a non-judgmental setting that will be uniquely tailored to you. We will offer you a really safe and confidential space to talk. We will listen as you explore your anxieties and will support you as you discover solutions to your problems. Some things don't have a solution, such as the death of someone very close to you. In such cases, we will help you work through your grief and come to terms with things which cannot be altered.

What is counselling?

Counselling is a talking therapy which involves:-
  • Support
  • Recovery
  • Problem-solving
  • Gaining insight or self-awareness
  • Developing new strategies for future living

Counselling typically involves change:-
  • Change in the way you see yourself
  • Change in the way you think about things
  • Change in the way you feel about yourself

Your counsellor will offer you a warm and empathic healing environment; each session will be quality time for you to talk through your problems and anxieties in a safe, confidential, non-judgmental setting that will be uniquely tailored to you.

How Counselling helps

Counselling is known to help with many different kinds of problems. Here are just a few of the many ways in which counselling can help:-

Anxiety and Depression:

At some point in our lives, many of us will be completely overwhelmed by anxiety and/or depression. Often we feel too embarrassed or ashamed to talk to our friends or family about how we're feeling and this leaves us feeling isolated and alone. There is hope, however, as counselling provides you with a safe place where you can explore your feelings and discuss any underlying issues that may have led to your anxiety or depression. While your GP may well prescribe medication to manage your symptoms, counselling is an extremely effective 'talking therapy' which has been proven to help resolve your difficulties in the longer term.

Bereavement:

Often when we're grieving, we try to protect those around us and don't want to burden our family or friends with how we're feeling, leading us to feel more and more isolated. Counselling can provide support through some very difficult times. It helps us to acknowledge our losses so that we can eventually move forward and reach a place where we can find acceptance.

Road Traffic Accidents:

Following the aftermath of a Road Traffic Accident, we may well suffer feelings of panic, anxiety and social withdrawal. There is, however, an extensive body of research to suggest that many people benefit from talking about their accident. Everyone is unique and feelings are highly individual, so being able to explore what the accident meant to you is an incredibly useful and important part of the recovery process.
