SERVICES

Welcome to Pauline French Acupuncture

I have over 30 years experience practicing acupuncture, treating patients for a wide range of ailments.

I combine knowledge of Five Element acupuncture and Traditional Chinese medicine and can prescribe patent herbs if required. I have recently joined The Zita West Clinic Network for Reproductive Health as an Affiliated Acupuncturist.

I predominantly use a gentler japanese needle technique which differs from the Chinese style in that the needles used are finer and inserted shallower causing less discomfort. In fact, most people find the treatment very relaxing.

About Pauline

I began my career in nursing, qualifying in 1975 as S.R.N, R.S.C.N at Great Ormond Street Hospitals for Sick Children.

I undertook training in Five Element Acupuncture at the college of Traditional Acupuncture gaining Licentiate of Acupuncture and membership of the Traditional Acupuncture Society in 1979. I have been a member of the British Acupuncture Council since it formed in 1995.

In 1999 I completed a course at the college of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading, integrating Five Element acupuncture with Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 2006 I trained in the use of Patent Herbal Remedies.

I undertook specific training in December 2008 and have joined the Zita West network for reproductive help as an affiliated acupuncturist, using acupuncture to treat fertility problems, pregnancy and post natal care. I update my knowledge and refine my skills through Continuing Personal Development, such as regularly attending seminars and reading journals.

In my spare time I enjoy pilates, dancing, photography, walking my dog and spending time with friends and family.

Testimonials

"When I first came to see you Pauline – after a long search for someone offering the type of acupuncture that you practice - I was feeling very wobbly after a flare up of the chronic illness that I have. I found it easy to tell you of my health problems - you are so gentle and caring. Although the first long session is mainly for gathering a detailed account of one past health, etc, afterwards I did feel a slight easing in the weird sensations that I had been having in my hands and feet.

"I improved step by step after each treatment and for the last 3 years I have been feeling almost 100%. During my regular visits, now at 6 weekly intervals I am able tell you of any areas of weakness or of any problems and acupuncture has generally been able to help, often a great deal . Your care has been able to prevent me slipping into a state where I might have another episode of illness. Acupuncture has kept me healthy generally and my immune system as strong as possible so that I am best able to resist virus or infections which might make me pray to another flare up.

"You are a true friend and your care and support – and your skill – have I am sure enable me to enjoy a really good quality of life. I am very grateful."

"I was pretty sceptical before I went, but this lady in Salisbury is amazing. She will solve all your troubles with a few well placed needles."
Review on Plebble

"I came to see Pauline originally because I had tennis elbow in both arms. My doctor had suggested injections but I was determined not to go down that route. I'd heard great things about Pauline from the folk at Neal's Yard in Salisbury so decided to try and get an appointment (there was quite a waiting list). Within a few sessions, the pain was a thing of the past and it has never returned. I still continue to have sessions with Pauline every six weeks or so as I enjoy them so much and see them as my gift to me. I am a firm believer in the therapeutic powers of acupuncture and would heartily recommend Pauline."
