SERVICES

Welcome to NW10 Therapies

NW10 Therapies is run by Sally Ibbotson MRSS ITEC and she is the practitioner of all therapies advertised here.

Sally has been working in the field of complementary health for 20 years and has been a teacher of Anatomy and Physiology for 5 years.

Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a non-invasive body therapy which has its roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is safe and effective in pregnancy.

How Does it work?

A Shiatsu Practitioner will work with your Qi (sometimes spelt Chi or Ki) – pronounced Chee.

Qi is often described as energy. More specifically, it is your essence – what makes you, you.

Just as a River contains River Qi which makes it a River as opposed to, for example, a Tree, so your Heart, Lungs, Liver etc. are all containers and manufacturers of specific kinds of Qi. So we can talk about Lung Qi and Heart Qi etc.

The body is forever seeking harmony and balance and in Traditional Chinese Medicine and dis-order or dis-ease is a disturbance of Qi.

A Shiatsu Practitioner will, by diagnostic means, discover where the imbalance might be and work to support your body in correcting it.

Qi Gong

Qi Gong is a form of gentle movement aimed at restoring balance and harmony to the body and mind. It is most effective when performed daily – 15 minutes a day can make a tangible difference!.

What Can I expect from a lesson?

Lessons are one to one and where possible we will work outside. Qi Gong is usually taught in a standing position, however, if this is difficult for you, it can be taught sitting down.

A lesson usually last from 50 minutes to an hour.

Indian Head Massage for Women

A half hour treatment for the upper back, neck, head and face. This is a very rejuvenating treatment, bringing a real glow to the face and hair!

What can I expect from a treatment?

You will be seated and will need to bring a sarong or large towel to cover the breasts.

I will use oil so you may need to wash your hair afterwards – it is possible to do Indian Head Massage without oil too.

Acupressure and Deep Tissue Massage for Women.

A deluxe massage with oil individualised by the use of specific acupressure points and deep tissue techniques .

What can I expect from a treatment?

You will be asked about your medical history and what brings you for a massage.changing photos

This massage works on the whole body, so you will be asked to undress to your underwear.

You should keep the therapists informed of your comfort needs throughout the massage to obtain the best possible effects.

The treatment lasts about an hour and involves traditional massage strokes and the application of pressure to specific points throughout the body. I also offer half hour treatments for the back and shoulders only.
