About Nutreflex

My view of healthy is being free from any physical, mental and emotional conditions. Many individuals, however, live with health problems on a daily basis. Some of these problems have been accepted as being normal such as PMT, headaches and stress.

Both reflexology and the appropriate nutrition can help with many of these ailments.

People often say that life is short, so why should we put up with these symptoms when some small changes to our diet and lifestyle can make us feel so much better and improve the quality of our life?

I am an holistic therapist specialising in nutrition and reflexology. I believe that given the right conditions and the correct nutrition that the body can heal itself.

I qualified with the Bayley School of Reflexology in 1996, which is affiliated to the British Reflexology Association. After treating many reflexology patients it became apparent that many of their health problems were related to poor nutrition as well as emotional problems, either currently or in the past. This led me to studying nutrition at the UK School of Naturopathic Nutrition to achieve my Diploma.

Other topics studied over the years include:

  • Maternity reflexology(pre-conception & pregnancy)with Susanne Enzer
  • Skeletal System Linking Technique
  • Endocrine system Linking Technique
  • Organ Linking Technique
  • Self Help Linking Technique
  • Indian Head Massage Diploma
  • Holistic Nutritional Practice Diploma (Advanced)
  • Diet & Nutrition Dilpoma (Distinction)
  • Adapting Massage & Reflexology for Palliative Care
  • Adapted Reflextherapy (spinal pain including Whiplash)
  • Foot reading theory and practical

Reflexology and Nutritional Therapy are both safe, natural therapies which have helped many overcome problems with medical conditions and ailments that have persisted when treated by conventional methods. If you want to follow a natural path to improve your health then why not contact me to discuss in more detail or to book an appointment.

I am a member of the BRA (British Reflexology Association)

Nutritional Therapy

I practice Holistic Nutrition which treats the whole body and not just the prevailing symptoms. So for instance if you regularly take pain killers for a headache they will take the pain away but do not get to the root cause to prevent reoccurrence.

Through careful diagnoses I will look at the body as a whole and link the symptoms to emotional or physical problems, what you eat, what you drink and your general lifestyle.

I can advise you how to make nutritional changes to your diet and changes to your lifestyle that can improve your health and relieve your current ailments.

Is it right for you?
Holistic Nutrition is aimed at individuals seeking an alternative solution to conventional medicine. It can be beneficial to support those who are currently on a programme of prescribed medical drugs. Some of the most common ailments which can be helped through nutrition include:
  • Digestive problems such as IBS
  • Migraines
  • Infertility
  • Allergies
  • Skin Conditions such as eczema and acne
  • PMT
  • Menopausal symptoms
  • Mood problems
  • Lack of energy
  • ME
  • Fatigue
  • Depression
  • Sleeping disorders
  • Weight loss/gain

The consultation
At your first appointment I will take details of any medical conditions, your current symptoms, as well as your medical history and details of ailments within your family. The consultation will last for about an hour.

The outcome
At the end of the consultation I will make nutritional recommendations of how to change your diet, what additional supplementations you may need and advise whether any other holistic therapies could be useful. I will provide a written report which details my recommendations.

Depending on the individual, it is likely that a follow up consultation would be required. Sometimes it is possible to carry this out by telephone.

Prices start from £55, depending on location.

Reflexology

There are many benefits to having a treatment of Reflexology. Some of my patients have recognised ailments such as:
  • Migraine
  • Sinusitis
  • Sub-fertility
  • Back and shoulder pain
  • Asthma
  • Allergies
  • PMT
  • Digestive problems
  • HIV
  • Circulation
  • Problems
  • Menopausal symptoms
  • MS
  • Cancer
  • Kidney/Bladder
  • problems
  • Stress
  • Sleeping disorders
  • Whiplash

Others have a regular reflexology treatment to relax them and make them feel good – a bit of a pamper. A reflexology treatment will also help to detoxify the body and create a general feeling of well being

Reflexology is a Complimentary Therapy, dating back thousands of years. It involves a method of specialised foot massage to reflex areas found in the feet which reflect every part of the body.

It works on a system of energy zones which act longitudinally throughout the whole body, ending in the feet and hands. By working on the reflex areas in the feet it is possible to detect imbalances in the energy zones and to correct the flow of energy, resulting in improvements or repair of any conditions present.

In a Reflexology session both feet will be massaged to enable the whole body to be treated.

During a Treatment
Reflexology is given with the patient either lying on a couch or in a reclining chair. The session will last for up to an hour during which time it is common to feel warm and relaxed. Many patients often fall into a deep sleep.

Between Treatments
Between Reflexology treatments you should find relief from your symptoms, more energy, improved sleep pattern and a general sense of well-being.

The number of treatment sessions required will vary for each patient dependent on the symptoms and each individual. Some patients will need a course of treatment whilst others will benefit from just one or two visits.

After Treatment
As part of the healing process the body will try and dispose of any unwanted toxins up to 48 hours after a reflexology treatment. As a result you may experience some of the following:

  • Increase in bowel movements
  • Frequent need to urinate
  • Increase in mucus production
  • Change in sleep pattern
  • Break out of spots or rash

These symptoms are perfectly normal and should become less frequent after further treatments. If any of the symptoms are worrying to you then please contact me to discuss.

Prices start from £30 a treatment, depending on location. Discounts are available for courses of 5 or more treatments.

Precision Reflexology

I generally incorporate some Precision Reflexology techniques into a reflexology treatment. Precision reflexology, also known as “Linking”, involves linking together two or more reflexes. So for example I have used this technique on clients who have fertility issues by linking together the endocrine system such as the adrenal, pituatry, thyroid and ovary glands. The linking involves lightly holding the reflex areas on the feet to encourage energy flow and release any blockages.

Other areas can be linked as well through the feet and can help relieve symptoms for many ailments. One of the advantages of using Precision Reflexology is that sometimes the client can experience discomfort to the area on the foot when applying standard reflexology pressure, as precision reflexology involves only a light touch then it is much more relaxing and in my experience just as effective.

For ladies trying to conceive I would recommend a course of 6 treatments at weekly intervals followed by a monthly treatment in mid cycle to keep the body in balance. Alongside this treatment I would also be able to offer nutritional advice.
