Naturally Better has grown out of my passion for complementary and holistic therapies and has further developed with more physical therapies and in line with my long term love of horses, into an animal practice.

Reiki is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Energy, an energy which is all around us. Reiki is also the name given to a system of energy healing which was developed Dr Mikao Usui based on many years of study, research and meditation.
There is no belief system attached to Reiki so anyone can receive or learn to give a Reiki treatment. Reiki is a non-invasive therapy.
Reiki is a simple yet effective method of working with energy which involves using the hands to channel energy through the body in order to bring about healing.

Reiki can be combined with massage and other therapies where appropriate.
Reiki is often seen as a treatment, and it can be a very effective one. However, by attending a Reiki course and learning how to work with Reiki yourself you can access all the benefits of Reiki for yourself without needing to see a therapist or practitioner.

I have been working with Reiki for over 15 years now and have experienced wonderful changes in my life and others' lives.
My passion is helping people and animals through Reiki and teaching those that are interested so that they may start their own Reiki journey.
Reiki is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Energy, an energy which is all around us. Reiki is the name given to a system of energy healing which was developed by Dr Mikao Usui based on many years of study, research and meditation.
There is no belief system attached to Reiki so anyone can receive or learn to give a Reiki treatment, the only prerequisite is the desire to heal and be healed. “Usui Reiki” is Reiki in its simplest form, as taught by Dr Mikao Usui, without the addition of other ideas or beliefs that are sometimes confused with Reiki.
My aim is to ensure that you leave my courses having enjoyed your Reiki experience, fully understood the course material and are confident to use your Reiki going forward.
I specialise in teaching Reiki with a tailored approach based on participants' current level of understanding and experience, focused on their individual objectives. My aim is to 'demystify' Reiki for my clients, making it accessible and giving you the confidence to work with Reiki at whatever level you aspire to.
Reiki Courses
Reiki 1st Degree - Shoden - Introduction to Reiki
The first level is called Shoden, also known as First Degree Reiki, Reiki Level I or just Reiki I. The background and history of Reiki are explained along with the main concepts and Reiki Precepts. Student receives empowerments/attunements to introduce them to Reiki energy and help then to ‘tune in’ to the energy, and are taught various methods for working with Reiki on themselves and others.
Shoden is taught by a combination of pre-reading and home practice (via a course manual), and either a one-day face to face teaching day, or a programme of 4 evenings over a month and ongoing use of audio CDs (from Reiki Evolutions).
Post course support is offered through ongoing telephone and email contact and free attendance at Reiki Practice Sessions for 3 months after the course date.
Reiki 2nd Degree - Okuden - Practitioner Level
The second level is called Okuden, also known as Second Degree Reiki, Reiki Level II or just Reiki II. It is sometimes also referred to as the Practitioner Level.
Students receive further empowerments/attunements and are taught the use of 3 Reiki symbols which further develop the students understanding and use of Reiki.
Okuden is taught by a combination of pre-reading and home practice (via a course manual), a one-day face to face teaching day, or a programme of 4 evenings over a month, and ongoing use of audio CDs (from Reiki Evolutions),
Post course support is offered through ongoing telephone and email contact and free attendance at Reiki Practice Sessions for 6 months after the course date.
Reiki 3rd Degree - Shinpiden- Master & Teacher Level
The second level is called Shinpiden, also known as Third Degree Reiki, Reiki Level III or just Reiki III. It is the Master/Teacher Level, sometimes noted as RMT.
Students receive further empowerments/attunements at master level, deepening their connection to Reiki and further enhancing their intent and intuition. This course also focuses on the role of Reiki teacher, empowering and teaching others both through Western and original Japanese approaches.
Shinpiden is taught by a combination of pre-reading and home practice (via a course manual, CDs and a DVD), and a two-day face to face weekend.
Post course support is offered through ongoing telephone and email contact and free attendance at Reiki Practice Sessions for 6 months after the course date.
Reiki Master 1-Day Course
This course is offered for those who with to continue their personal journey with Reiki, deepen their connection to Reiki, but who have no desire to teach others.
Courses will be held in an informal, relaxed manner, at my home near Trowbridge, Wiltshire.
Equine Reiki / Reiki With Animals
Introduction to Reiki with Animals
Based on Shoden, this course focuses on using Reiki with our pets/animals.
Students will receive empowerments and hands on practice of using Reiki with horses (although the principles taught are applicable to all animals). There may be the opportunity to practice on some dogs and the yard cats on the day - your own dogs are welcome if they are well behaved.
This course is open to anyone who has already completed a Reiki Level I course, or can be taken in conjunction with my Shoden courses as above.
Post course support is offered through ongoing telephone and email contact and free attendance at Reiki Practice Sessions for 3 months after the course date.
Advanced Reiki with Animals
Based on Okuden,this course focuses on treating animals with Reiki.
Students will receive empowerments and hands on practice of treating horses with Reiki.
(The principles taught are applicable to all animals). There may be the opportunity to practice with some dogs and the yard cats on the day - your own dogs are welcome if they are well behaved.
This course is open to anyone who has already completed a Reiki Level II course, or can be taken in conjunction with my Okuden courses as above.
Post course support is offered through ongoing telephone and email contact and free attendance at Reiki Practice Sessions for 6 months after the course date.
Shadow days working with me treating horses with Reiki can be arranged for Reiki II graduates.
Reiki Practice / Reiki "Share" Sessions
3-hour informal sessions, open to all graduates of my Reiki courses (also open to other Reiki graduates by individual arrangement - please feel free to get in touch!).
An opportunity to practice your Reiki and be practiced on!
A forum to ask questions, discuss issues and share experiences.

Programmes can be individually tailored to suit specific requirements.
You may have some previous Reiki training but want to clarify your understanding, or further your training. You may have experience working on other healing / energy based disciplines and want to incorporate Reiki into your practice.

Additional dates can be arranged to suit either individuals or groups.
The cost of your course includes soft drinks and snacks, course materials - pre-reading/books, CDs, handouts, your certificate, ongoing advice and support and attendance at Reiki Practice sessions.
A 50% deposit is required on registration, balance payable at the start of each course, with the exception of Reiki Practice sessions which can be booked as a series of 4 on the first date attended, or paid for on arrival at each session.
