About Us

You, & those around you should invest in your own health, improve your quality of life and discover a new, active lifestyle which fulfils your ambitions. This can only be achieved through proactive measures such as regular maintenance of your musculoskeletal systems, ensuring the correct balances of nutritional intake and treating the causes of disease rather than only addressing the symptoms.

Having been an instructor with the British Judo Council for many years, and a member of their National squad, it was inevitable that a first hand experience of fast, safe and effective injury treatments would be gained.

This knowledge was backed up by qualifications that were gained through the Association of Therapeutic Masseurs at courses run by the Complimentary Therapies College of Wales, which cumulated in me instructing on the masseurs course and assisting on the Skeletal manipulation course.

I have continued my education and qualifications in order to extend and compliment the foundational courses above, choosing Sports Injury treatments (as a post graduate) and Orthotic assessments using the skeletal balancing system and casting techniques.

I have recently joined the Association of Osteomyologists and attend their courses on a regular basis, often being asked for my input and demonstrating the techniques that I have mastered over the many years of various disciplines.

Whether you are treated at your workplace, at home or in the clinic (and whether you are seen during the week, evenings or weekends) you will get the same person from start to finish, so there is a continuity of care from a highly motivated and qualified professional - one you know will always have your interests at heart, and more capable than your "smells and bells" style therapist.

Testimonials

Client confidentiality and professional ethics prohibit me from disclosing details of treatments on an individual basis, but a selection of comments from previous clients gives an indication of my abilities;

Local professional musician "I had been to see the doctor on numerous occasions and all he had done was prescribe more powerful painkillers each time I saw him, the result of which was that I felt physically sick and couldn't focus on my daily activities.

My concern mounted to the point where I went to see a neurologist privately, which cost a considerable amount of money for a very short visit and resulted in him telling me that it was just tension and all I needed was a good massage.

When I saw Dave he told me where I was getting the pain and within 3 sessions had realigned my neck. He then proceeded to instruct me on the cause of my dysfunction and I have subsequently altered my posture when working.

I am now becoming more and more successful in the music business, whereas I thought my career was over before I met Dave"

British cycling qualified coach, UK sport "I'm a bike racer - if it has two wheels I'll pedal it - Mountain bike, Road Race, Time trials, Cyclocross. I have been riding for over 15 years.

Not uncommonly for a tall cyclist I have been known to suffer from lower back pain. In 2000 I was competing in the 'Southern Area Mountainbike Series' managing a few top tens in my category. I was however suffering from extreme lower back pain during the races, to the point that it actually locked up near the end of one particular race. David managed to correct some misalignments that I'd been suffering from and identified several other muscle groups that were bearing the stress of my pain, particularly my traps which you could play a tune on.

I have heard horror stories of Osteopaths putting people through all sorts of pain, but can genuinely say that Dave has never used any force or caused me pain whilst manipulating my spine. I positively look forward to an appointment with Dave, as I know I will be coming home better than when I arrived! The end result is that I have been successfully racing ever since and have never experienced anything like the pain I was from back in 2000. I am much more aware of my body through the work Dave has done for me.

With a good strength and conditioning plan alongside Dave's therapy I can get on with racing and not worry about my back! Thanks Dave!

M.S. sufferer "Having been diagnosed for some years with MS, I decided to seek alternative/complimentary therapies to ease my discomfort. One local practitioner sent me away with the comment 'I can rub your back whenever you want, but it won't do any good' which left me feeling very upset as I had been told that MS responds well to regular massage.

Luckily I persevered and visited Dave who not only confirmed that massage was good for holding back the downward trend in MS, but also diagnosed musculoskeletal problems that were not linked directly to the disease. The regular monthly sessions have helped me to feel so much better about myself, kept me more focused & more active.

Dave had assessed a foot problem involving a loss of the arch, which compounded the effect that muscular imbalances were having upon my stance - leading to an amplification of my instability. Dave had suggested that I be prescribed with Orthotic corrections upon my very first visit and, even though he didn't keep pushing it, I eventually agreed to let him measure me up for them.

Upon placing my new Orthotics in my shoes I actually cried because It was the first time in 8 years that I had stood up and not wobbled. I still see Dave once a month for regular maintenance and I am so pleased that I persevered or I wouldn't have found my new me"
