Fees & Facts:

How much does it cost?

The fee for a 50min session ranges between £45 and £100 and is dependent on the location and time of the session.
Private medical insurance: £150

How long will I have to be in therapy for?

A course of therapy can range from a few months to a year or longer. Especially if you have been experiencing a certain problem for a long time, it will probably take some time to overcome it. The idea is to work towards a healthier way of living in a sensible amount of time. If you prefer, we can agree to a certain, limited amount of sessions at the beginning, if you feel more comfortable to do so.

Can you give me some advice?

As the client, I believe you know yourself the best. Therefore, one of my goals in therapy is to help you open up new avenues of thinking, become aware of obstacles or hindrances and ultimately facilitate your ability to manage yourself, always appropriate for your unique life situation and personality.

"My problem is probably not big enough to seek counselling..."

In counselling we will look at your concerns in a non-judgemental way and ascertain how we can best help you improve the quality of your life. Maybe the fact that you're reading up on counselling means that your problem - no matter how "small" - has become too much for you to cope with and therefore you might benefit from seeing a professional, who (unlike family) is not biased and will be able to guide you further.

QUALIFICATION DETAILS

Professional Qualifications: I have a BA Hons in Education Studies & Psychology (Middlesex University, London) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy (Regent's College, London). I am accredited by the BACP, registered by the UKRCP and a member of the Association for Independent Practitioners (www.aiponline.org.uk). Further, I am an approved psychotherapy provider of Aviva, Standard Life Healthcare, CIGNA, WPA and Simplyhealth (HSA). Areas of Experience:
  • Running a private practice for adult individuals
  • Work with young people
  • Telephone Counselling/Crisis Helpline
  • Work with women from abusive/violent backgrounds
  • Associate Counsellor/Psychotherapist for LACAP
  • Work with different ethnic minorities for Mind in Barnet
Personal Approach: In my work, I mainly integrate the humanistic and psychodynamic approaches to therapy and apply them appropriate to the needs of the client. I maintain that the quality of the relationship between therapist and client has the potential to be the most healing element in the therapeutic process. I believe that self-awareness is the first step to improvement and I work towards facilitating the most conducive environment for its development - including strict confidentiality and provision of a safe and secure setting. Furthermore, I work towards creating a calm atmosphere, in which the client can feel comfortable, begin to trust our relationship and feel at ease to open up.
