I am a qualified Humanistic Therapist who is a member of the BACP & abide by their code of ethics. The sessions are confidential but there are limits to confidentiality which I will explain during the first session.

I believe that an individual has within themselves vast resources of self-understanding for altering their self-concept, attitudes and self-directing behaviour.

Helping you to explore your own subjective experiences in the here-and-now can heighten your awareness on any issues / problems / life events that happened either recently or may have happened a long time ago.

My goal is not to solve any problems / issues you may have, but to help you find ways of coping better with any problems you may have; to increase your self-worth / self-esteem and also to help you to become more aware of, and see more clearly, what your situation may be.

I have worked with a range of complex and diverse issues on a one to one basis.

These have included:
Eating disorders,
Bereavement,
Anger,
Depression,
Anxiety, Stress,
Sexual abuse,
Low self-esteem, low self-worth,
Feelings / thoughts of helplessness,
Lack of confidence,
Relationships,
Bullying,
Alcohol,
Religion,
Ethnic / Cultural issues,
Abuse.

I am a good listener and have worked with clients aged 17 to 65 years old.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy and abide by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling & Psychotherapy. I also have an up to date enhanced police check (CRB).

I see clients on a 1-1 basis once a week.
