A bit about me

I am a qualified and registered nurse.

My original nursing qualification was gained in the mid-seventies. I was a ward sister until I had a career break when I had my children. I have 15 years experience in food intolerance testing and advice.

I work from my home on the borders of Purley and Wallington, in Surrey. There is easy street parking here. Ridge Park is equidistant from Purley and Wallington train stations, [half an hour walk,] and is 10 minutes walk from the 127 bus route, via which you can access Purley and Wallington.
My home is within easy access of central London, Sutton and Croydon.

How can I help you?

I can test for any food that you eat, and any product that you might use in your household. I can also test to see whether you are deficient in any vitamins or minerals.

Based on the results of testing, I give sensible, carefully considered advice re a temporary strict elimination diet. This advice will take into consideration the kind of person you are and the lifestyle that you lead.

I explain in detail what you need to do with regard to changing your diet, and give you information about alternative foods.

I give detailed instructions about reintroducing problem foods, and tell you ways to avoid having problems with food intolerance again in the future.

You will have a written record of all that I tell you.

What is the testing procedure?

I use a Dietx machine, which in the hands of an experienced and competent tester gives very good results.
The machine is the new version of the Vega machine. It is non invasive,[no needles or scratches] and involves touching an acupuncture point near a finger or toe nail with a probe [looks like a ballpoint pen] A bottle of food in placed in or on the machine. If the food is giving the client adverse symptoms, then the reading on the machine will be much lower than if the food is not a problem to the client. There is no mystique. The readings obtained are explained carefully to the client.

I can test for 160 foods 60 additives and approximately 50 chemicals and products that might irritate a person's skin, nose or lungs.

I have been using this machine for 15 years. My original training was with Health Screening Limited, and took 6 months. This, allied with my nursing background, enables me to give a very good service to my clients.

8 years ago I did a small study, involving sending a questionnaire to 364 clients, to ascertain how much improvement they had noticed in their original symptoms. I am at present doing another more in-depth study which I hope to complete by the end of this year. Please look at 'Success Rates' on this website for more information..

If you research 'Vega testing' it does not always receive a good press. This is mainly because it is possible to do a weekend course to learn how to use the machine. The time involved in practising the use of the machine can be as little as 2 hours. With so little experience and training , these people give this form of testing a poor reputation. At present this area of alternative health care does not have to be regulated.
