SERVICES

Welcome to Linden Herbal Healthcare

At Linden Herbal Healthcare I aim to help you to achieve your health goals through the use of organic whole plant medicines. Where necessary, appropriate nutritional advice, counselling techniques and massage therapy may also be employed to assist you to achieve optimal health.

You will be given time to discuss your health concerns in detail with a fully qualified Medical Herbalist who combines clinical diagnostic skills, counselling experience and specialist knowledge of herbal medicines and their potential interactions with other drugs. Together, as patient and herbalist, we will decide on your priority health issues and agree between us how to set about tackling areas of concern.

As a holistic therapy, it is you and not your illness that is the focus of treatment and so the treatment plan is individually tailored to meet your specific needs. Where indicated, a herbal prescription will be formulated to assist in your treatment plan. This will be made up according to your specific presentation and may consist of dried herbs for herbal teas, alcohol-based liquid tinctures or creams and ointments.

What is Herbal Medicine?

Herbal Medicine is the use of plant remedies in the treatment and management of disease. It is the oldest form of medicine known, and is the origin of modern medicine. Today75% of the world’s population still depends on plants as their main source of medicine.

Herbal medicines encourage the body’s own natural healing processes without the use of pharmaceutical drugs. Plant remedies are gentle on your body and mind and can be used to treat short or long term health problems, in infants, children and adults.

Herbal Medicine is Safe

Clinical trials, using the same rigorous methods as pharmaceutical drugs, have proven the effectiveness in the treatment and management of many conditions. As balanced, natural products, herbal medicines have few side effects and are often more gentle on the body than modern drugs.

However, herbs have powerful effects and it is always recommended that you consult a fully qualified medical herbalist rather than self-medicating as the strength and potential interactions of some herbs may be misunderstood. Medical Herbalists are trained to know the indications, interactions and contraindications of herbs and so will know which herbal medicines are most appropriate for you.

A Name You Can Trust

Herbal medicine, administered by a qualified medical herbalist, is a safe and effective means of treating almost any disorder for which one might see a doctor.

Members of the National Institute of Herbal Medicine carry the letters MNIMH after their name. This indicates that they have completed a stringent training regime to degree or postgraduate level, alongside comprehensive clinical practice.
