SERVICES

Welcome to
Life Planning

(Re)Discover the life you want!

I work in a collaborative and creative way, supporting clients to work out what their dreams are in a gentle and effective way. I then support my client to work out how to get the life they want.

Life Planning has helped people who are feeling stuck; want to do something different, but aren’t quite sure where to start or have had a big change in life recently (or want one). My clients have all made changes to their lives and have become happier and more fulfilled as a consequence of our sessions together.

About Us

Life planning helps people to change their lives and (re)discover what they really want from life.

I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor and Psychotherapist, and even though Life Planning is often more lighthearted in its approach, my professional and ethical approach helps my clients to focus on who they uniquely are and what they want from life.

All sessions take place in Edinburgh, Scotland.

More about me

I am an experienced and qualified Person-Centred Counsellor and Psychotherapist (BACP accredited course) and have been fortunate to work for several years supporting people to get what they want out of life in the voluntary sector. My counselling background means I can help you to explore what you want, whilst being challenging enough to help you to achieve the life you want. I am based in Edinburgh.

I have developed Life Planning through personal and professional experiences. One of the earliest memories was my members of my family saying to me ‘do what makes you happy’. I think throughout my life I’ve thought long and hard about what that means. I started out working in the civil service doing a statistical job, and that didn’t make me happy. I was also rubbish at it because I found it boring and I lost confidence as I was spending all my time doing something I hated and wasn’t good at. Then I took a risk, I went part-time and started to volunteer in a mental health charity, and something began to feel right. Doing something I cared about made me happy.

After a while I trained to be a Person-Centred Counselling Psychotherapist at University of Warwick and I learnt so much about how I (and in turn other people) found it difficult to accept myself for who I am, and throughout the two years of intense training began to like, even love myself, warts and all. I learnt how powerful my insights can be and what I offer in relationships is something unique. Throughout my life I’ve been able to reflect and be honest with myself enough to make changes that are important to me. In turn I’ve helped the people I am closest to, and those I work with, to make those changes too.

I then moved Edinburgh and started to develop my own approach to help someone reflect on the life they want. I gave a session to a friend, who loved it, she then spread the word and others wanted to work with me to help them too. I thought about what I really wanted and decided that setting up a business helping people to reflect and plan for a life which really suits them was something I felt passionately about… so here I am.
