What is Traditional Chinese Medicine?

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a medical system which developed in China and evolved down through the centuries, fashioned by Chinese civilisation and culture.

It is a holistic system that aims to treat each patient as a whole on an individual basis. The practitioner is able to identify the underlying patters of disease through various diagnostic techniques and prescribe treatments according to the analysis.

TCM theory believes that health problems arise when the circulation of energy (qi) is disturbed. Chinese medicine practitioners can use various treatment methods to correct this flow and restore well being to the patient.
