Services at KPC

Individual Service

Your treatment at Knebworth Physiotherapy Clinic will be designed on an individual basis. From the initial assessment of your condition your physiotherapist will recommend a course of treatment and exercise so that you can work together towards your rehabilitation. This treatment will usually involve utilising a number of physiotherapy techniques such as mobilisation and manipulation, soft tissue techniques, exercises and electrotherapy. In addition two of our physios are also qualified in acupuncture and we may suggest this to enhance your recovery.

If you are you are suffering from lymphoedema or any post-surgery problems following treatment for cancer we have a highly experienced palliative care physiotherapist who can design a treatment programme for you to help in your recovery.

Initial Assessment

Your initial assessment will ordinarily last 45 minutes. This is to enable your physiotherapist to comprehensively assess the affected area and make an informed judgment about what form of treatment would be the best to ensure that we can work towards your goals and manage your expectations. Following this initial assessment your physiotherapist will be able to discuss with you and recommend a course of treatment that should aid your rehabilitation.

Any treatment sessions undertaken following the initial assessment will usually last for 30 minutes per session.

In addition to a recommended course of treatment and exercise we stock various rehabilitation products, for example TENS machines, orthopaedic supports, hot and cold therapy packs, back supports, pillows and self-help literature.

Fee Structure

For our private paying customers Knebworth Physiotherapy Clinic accepts most major credit and debit cards, in addition to cash or cheque.

If you are being referred to us by your insurer, we will invoice them directly for the cost of your treatment. We are recognised by all the major insurers including BUPA, AXA PPP, Cigna, Aviva and HSA. Your insurer should provide you with a pre-authorisation number which we will require in order for us to invoice them.

As in all cases the exact level of cover you have will be detailed in the terms of conditions of your private medical insurance. Some insurance policies will require you to pay a small excess towards the cost of any treatment that is undertaken.

In the event that you have been referred to us following a road traffic accident or similar we will deal directly with the referrer, who will advise us directly how many treatment sessions they will fund.
