SERVICES

HOLISTIC HEALTH CARE FOR ADULTS & CHILDREN

Skype Consultations Available

I have a degree in Homeopathy and have been practising Complementary Medicine for over 20 years. During this time, I have built up a thorough knowledge of many different therapies and am also qualified in Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Reiki and Metamorphic Technique.

Individual Treatment
I am able to incorporate all of these into my client’s treatment. So, a person suffering from the effects of day to day stress, may find themselves not only receiving homeopathic medication, but an aromatherapy blend alongside instructions on stimulating the reflex points on the feet. This means that the treatment I offer is different for each person depending on their needs.

What can you expect?
The first consultation lasts approximately 1hr 30mins. The purpose is to gather the background information, for as homeopaths, we don’t believe that many health problems appear suddenly out of nowhere, but that a series of events led a person to that point. So, this is the stage where we start to build a picture of the different areas of your life, such as childhood illnesses, family history and major events such as schooling, work and relationships. After all your details have been taken, you will be given a programme of homeopathic remedies to start the process. Follow-ups are usually every 4-6 weeks to monitor your progress and make any adjustments to your homeopathic prescription.

ABOUT ME

Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Reiki

My journey into the world of complementary medicine started over 20 years ago when I sought therapeutic massage for an excruciating back pain. I remember the feeling of relief as the therapist eased out all those knotted muscles and tension. From that day onward I was hooked and my training began the following year when I enrolled on a massage course. New doors of knowledge opened. Through massage I learnt of the uses of aromatherapy oils, not only for pampering ourselves, but also it’s original application as a medicinal treatment for many common ailments. Alongside my practice, I was employed part-time by Leonard Cheshire Homes to give aromatherapy treatments to the some of the more disabled residents and worked extensively with people with multiple sclerosis.

After completing reflexology training I joined the NHS Directory of Reflexologists. Throughout this period I taught for Orpington College, BTEC Health Studies, Complementary Health Unit and for Bromley Adult Education Centre, Anatomy & Physiology and the ITEC Massage Diploma in which I trained people to become practitioners in this field. Later, I was introduced to Reiki and with a colleague formed the Petts Wood Reiki Group.

Homeopathy

However it is to the discovery of homeopathy that I will be forever grateful. Homeopathy has introduced me to a system of medicine with endless possibilities as it is a most flexible treatment that can be used to treat a variety of conditions. It has been practised throughout the world for over 200 years. As homeopaths, we do not separate the physical, emotional and mental symptoms, but take the view that they are all interconnected. This is what makes homeopathy a truly holistic and refined art. Often people decide to try homeopathy when they feel they want to explore a natural and gentle alternative to drugs. It is suitable for adults and children of all ages, is a well regulated and safe form of medicine with little or no side effects and is safe to use alongside conventional treatments.

ART & HOMEOPATHY

"Art is Man's Nature. Nature is God's Art" - Philip James Bailey

I belong to the Art & Homeopathy Group. This is a new movement, which focuses on using the visual arts to provoke a response from the client to enable the homeopath to see and treat what is going on behind the disorder. Our aim is to tap into and treat those emotions that the person has buried, of which they may no longer be aware. We are going back to the source, healing old wounds that stop us from moving forward.

In my practice, I use art in many ways depending on the client. For artists, it is a great help for me not only to see the work they are producing, but to visit their studio and understand how they practice. For others, such as people who find it difficult to verbalise their feelings, we may look at a variety of artwork and the stories suggested by each. I have treated children who will keep a colour diary for me, their yellow days meaning something quite different from their green days. It is important to be aware though, that the homeopathic approach to art, is not art therapy, but using it as a tool to find the right remedy for that person. However, many people do find it to be an illuminating and helpful exercise. You can find out more about this fascinating approach by visiting www.artandhomeopathy.org

A Wider Choice
Complementary medicine today is less of a fringe practice than it was twenty years ago. It has been incorporated into many areas of the National Health System. In spite of cut backs, many of the NHS homeopathic hospitals remain and the Faculty of Homeopaths continue to train GPs in this field.

The important thing that Complementary Medicine brings to health care is “choice”. We have not yet discovered a system of medicine that has all the answers, therefore we need to take the most suitable and least harmful treatment from what is available. For me, medicine is like having a tool box, which you dip into, searching for the right tool for the job, sometimes it will be homeopathy, sometimes aromatherapy or conventional medicine and sometimes a little of each.

If you wish to book an appointment or for general enquiries, then please contact me on the above details. Please be assured that all personal information is treated confidentially.
