    MY PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY IS:

    WHO I AM

I am an integrative counsellor which means I use a combination of approaches that best suit your needs, incorporationg person centred, psychodyamiic, CBT and hypno/psychotherapeutic techniques.
My personal style of working is interactive facilitating clients' realistic goals and building on inner resources to resolve their presenting issues

I qualifed as a therapist in 1999 and have worked in a variety of settings including a:
    - male prison/well womens centre/bereavement centre and in student services.

My pathway into counselling occurred due to my love of working with students whilst lecturing in business and management studies in further and higher education during the late 1980's through to the mid 1990's. Many of the skills I developed as a lecturer have proven transferable in my role as a counsellor as some aspects of counselling are educative.

Having developed a keen interest into how clients' presenting issue(s) impact on other family members, I trained as a COUPLE AND RELATIONSHIP COUNSELLOR with Relate. (1999-2004). During my time at Relate, I developed in increasing interest in alternative ways of facilitating client issues, particularly in relation to their subconsious awareness. This sparked off my training in HYPNO/ PSYCHOTHERAPY.
I am a registered hypno/psychotherapist and practitioner with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy, (UKCP). www.psychotherapy.org.uk
