SERVICES

Jingshen TCM and Acupuncture Clinic is a private practice specialising in the treatment of serious medical or emotional conditions. Our experienced practitioners are fully qualified and insured professionals.

Jing Shen is the idea of good mind and consciousness, of good interaction of body, mind and spirit, of vigour and vitality and of drive. It is supreme healthiness. (Prof. T.J.Shanahan, ICTCM.)

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is an ancient and sophisticated form of medical treatment which originated in China but has increasingly spread throughout the world.

TCM is therapeutically effective. The same techniques have been used for a long period of time: the same acupuncture points, herbs and prescriptions have been used for more than 2000 years.

It is also therapeutically safe. The famous dictum "Let our first principle be not to harm the patient" (Florence Nightingale) is fully adopted by TCM, which has had extensive field trials geographically (whole of China and the Orient), in terms of population treated (population of China alone is currently around 1 300 000 000), and in time scale (in excess of 2000 years).

Chinese medicine has a wide scope of applicability, it is a full medical system. It means that every condition, and every person can be treated. Chinese medicine treats all sorts of illness and makes no distinction between mental and physical illness.

Chinese medicine is non-invasive and non-destructive. There are no deleterious side effects or repercussions. All forms of TCM therapy are wholly safe when administered by a professional practitioner.

TCM is made up of a number of different specialisms, which include the following:
  • Acupuncture
  • Moxibustion
  • Medical Qigong
  • Herbal Medicine
  • Dietary Therapy
  • Massage and Therapeutic Exercise
  • Cupping
  • Medical Advice
Any branch of Chinese medicine can be used alone or in combination with another. For example, the professional acupuncturist will frequently combine acupuncture treatment with moxibustion, dietary therapy, and medical advice.

Consultations
