About
Reiki, which can be translated from the Japanese to mean 'universal guided life force', is a non-invasive holistic therapy that channels the natural energy which exists in all of us for the purpose of healing relaxation and wellbeing.
Reiki, a practice of natural healing, was developed by Dr. Mikao Usui early in the 20th Century. The principles of Reiki as expressed by Dr Usui are:
Just for today, do not worry.
Just for today, do not anger.
Honour your parents, teachers and elders.
Earn your living honestly.
Show gratitude for every living thing.
Reiki includes four Aspects and nine Elements within its practice. Research carried out in the 1980's across a range of diverse subjects showed that positive results were obtained regardless of the participants beliefs.
Our Services
I set an ambient mood with appropriate music. If you prefer this does not have to be played.
If you chose to come to me, I practice at the Canonbury Natural Health Clinic, 265 Upper Street, Islington, N1 2UQ. My rate for this is £45/per session.
I also have a table which allows me to do home visits. My rate for this is £60/per session.
A Reiki treatment involves the recipient sitting or laying down fully clothed. I recommend clients wear loose, comfortable clothing. I then place my hands gently on or over the body (this is decided after a discussion with you). A session lasts for 75 minutes.
I am fully insured and am able to provide proof of my training upon request.
Please note that Reiki is a complementary therapy that works alongside mainstream health care but should not be used as a substitute for appropriate medical treatment.
