SERVICES

Welcome to Hove Massage Therapy

Personal Statement
“The last time I had reflexology with Karolina I walked out of the session as though walking on air, not only was it a relaxing treatment that had removed the day’s tensions and anxieties but it was also very uplifting and I couldn’t help smiling for the rest of the evening.”
Jacqui, University of Brighton

I am dedicated to helping people release tensions and stresses stored in their bodies so that they can feel really wonderful and remember what it’s like to feel relaxed. I approach all treatment with intention to coax and ease muscle tension – never to force it and am guided by the client as to how deep or gentle the pressure should be. Overall I aim to provide an effective treatment that feels good.

I work in various environments: in a salon within a leisure centre, from my own treatment room at home, and one day a week at the University of Brighton. I have worked on-site for Brighton & Hove Council on 3 separate occasions, all with 100% positive feedback and very recently took part in the American Express Healthy Living Wellness Programme UK Launch.

I am interested in people and love to hear their stories. I have experienced ups and downs in my life, and this understanding puts my clients at ease. I am flexible on price where there is a genuine need (students, pensioners, unwaged) and happy to offer discounts where people are willing to commit to regular treatments. I love to work with people who recognise the value of feeling good and how this impacts on every other aspect of their lives.

Treatments

Massage:

Massage has many beneficial effects – both physiological and emotional:
  • Improves Blood Circulation and Lymphatic Flow
  • Can Increase Mobility and Range of Motion of Joints where muscular tension is causing restriction
  • Speeds removal of metabolic wastes
  • Calming for the mind and useful for general relaxation
  • Reduction of adhesions between skin and underlying soft tissue
  • Aids reduction of subcutaneous lipids when combined with exercise
  • Increased release of endorphins, increasing levels of wellbeing

I combine Sports Massage with Aromatherapy to provide a massage which is deep and effective while still being pleasant and soothing. Depending on whether you need the treatment to target a specific area or want to feel blissfully relaxed with a whole body treatment, each treatment is tailored to the needs of the moment.

Pregnancy Massage:

A massage adapted for pregnancy (3 months +).
Great for relieving aches and pains and reducing water retention.

Reflexology:

"Reflex points on the feet (or hands) have been thought to correspond to every part of the body, a plausible notion since their sensory nerves make many contacts through the spinal cord. Precise pressure is applied to activate natural internal healing. Usually an extremely pleasurable and relaxing experience."
Candace Pert, PhD, Author “Molecules of Emotion” and over 250 scientific articles

"By applying acupressure and massage-like techniques to these reflex points on the feet, the related body parts are positively affected, and blood, nerve and lymphatic systems are invigorated thus improving supply."
The NHS Directory of Complementary and Alternative Practitioners

Reflexology is a complementary, holistic therapy. Pressure is applied to specific points, referred to as “reflexes”, which are formed by 7,200 nerve endings in each foot. This encourages improved instruction to each part of the body, helping it to biologically correct, strengthen, and reinforce itself.

People receiving reflexology have reported symptomatic relief from the following:
  • Headaches / Migraines
  • Anxiety
  • Insomnia
  • Digestive Disorders
  • Sciatic Pain

It is deeply relaxing and very pleasant.

Rejuvenating Facial Massage (Natural Lift Facial Massage):

This is a special combination of Japanese Facial Massage, Ayurveda, Acupressure, Facial Reflexology and Aromatherapy. It can improve the complexion by stimulating rejuvenation and cellular activity and speeding up the removal of toxins. It reduces muscle tension and helps to reduce expression lines and wrinkles as well as toning and tightening the skin and the underlying muscles. This is a soothing and relaxing treatment for the whole body.

It feels wonderful!
