SERVICES

Welcome to Homeopathy-in-Plymouth

My clinic is in Holland Road in Plymouth, easy, free parking and close to bus routes. Please allow an hour for the consultation.

All appointments cost £50

All homeopathic remedies are included in the fee and will usually be made up and given to you at the end of the consultation.

Many conditions may be helped with homeopathy. Phone me for a chat or check out my website for more information.

Whatever your health issues homeopathy may help.
Short-lived illnesses such as colds and flu may be greatly alleviated by homeopathy.

Childrens illnesses
  • earache
  • bad throats etc may be quickly eased with suitable remedies.
  • Bedwetting
  • crying
  • constipation
may be helped with homeopathy.

Homeopathic remedies may help stop night terrors and fearfulness. Vaccinations are always a difficult issue for parents and homeopathy can help, ask for advice.

Homeopathy treats the person with the illness rather than treating the symptoms of the illness. I will need to know a lot about you as a person as well as the particular symptoms you are experiencing in order to fine a suitable homeopathic remedy for you.

What are homeopathic remedies, and how do I take them?

The ‘medicines’ a homeopath uses are called ‘remedies’. They are dispensed as small tablets or pills made of sucrose or milk sugar. Although they will all look the same the homeopath will medicate them differently depending on the prescription chosen for you.

If you are currently taking medication prescribed by your doctor I will never ask you to stop taking it. Homeopathic remedies will work just the same. As your condition improves you will be able to discuss with your doctor when you can reduce or stop taking your medications as appropriate.

The remedies are absorbed through the mucous lining of the mouth so they need to dissolve in the mouth. They may be sucked or chewed like a sweet. Some homeopaths insist on the avoidance of strong flavours such as coffee and mint during homeopathic treatment. I have never had a problem with well chosen remedies being damaged by these substances, the remedies should be taken on a neutral palate. If you wish to take remedies around mealtimes or bed time, take the remedy first, once it has gone it is fine to eat, drink, smoke and use toothpaste.

Remedies, stored in a cool, dark place away from strong smells such as aromatherapy oils, will remain active and usable for many years.

Fertility

It is becoming more and more common to experience difficulties with conception. Your doctor will advise you to allow at least a year after stopping the oral contraceptive pill to get pregnant. However, as the second and third year passes a sense of desperation sets in. What seemed like the most natural thing in the world, to have a baby, begins to feel like it will never happen. An emotional roller-coaster starts and takes over your life. I understand these feelings and my sympathetic consultations and homeopathic remedies will help ease your unhappiness whilst hormonal adjustment takes place. Homeopathic remedies will be chosen to work with your body to produce the best possible health for you. If you are planning IVF treatment, a few months of homeopathy to work with general health and emotional issues can be very helpful.

Menopause and Homeopathy

Menopause is a time of transition, a time to change old habits and resolve issues from the past.

During menopause oestrogen and progesterone, the hormones which control the menstrual cycle, are produced in lower quantities and eventually menstrual periods will cease. Many women pass through this time of transition without any problems or symptoms whatsoever.

Others are not so fortunate.

Symptoms can include - mood swings, depression, irritability, fatigue, panic attacks, palpitations, vaginal dryness, muscle and bone pain, weight gain, irregular periods, hot flushes, sweating and poor sleep.

Homeopathic remedies such as Sepia, Pulsatilla, Sulphur and Lachesis can help relieve the uncomfortable symptoms and gently assist your body with its natural adjustment through menopause.

As a homeopath I will choose remedies according to the symptoms you suffer but I will also take into account your ‘constitution’. The remedies I prescribe will be specific remedies chosen for you as an individual.
