The Heath Osteopathic Practice
I work from home and as such my clinic is a welcoming and relaxing place for my patients. I retrained as an osteopath 10 years ago after working as a welfare rights worker. I have always been very interested in achieving good health naturally. I became interested in osteopathy after being impressed with the results in my children after taking them for osteopathic treatment.

I studied at the British College Of Osteopathic Medicine in Hampstead for a 4 year BSc Degree. I graduated in 2005 with a 2:1 Honours Degree. I am registered with the General Osteopathic Council and as a member complete further study every year in order to keep up to date and learn new skills. I am also a member of the Institute of Osteopathy. I completed a postgraduate course in Cranial Osteopathy at the Sutherland Cranial College in 2006 Level 2. I have attended courses in Ergonomics which looks at posture and how to correct it to achieve maximum comfort. I have attended several courses recently about treating pregnant women and babies.

If you are not sure if osteopathy is right for you, or wish to discuss whether it can help you, please ring me on 07754 093301 for further details.

Osteopathy

Osteopathy does not provide a cure; it helps the bodys own innate system to help itself achieve improved health. An Osteopath does not look at the patient as a list of symptoms but as an individual with their own history.

Each patients body is affected by its structure and the way it is used. For this reason, I do not try to fix a problem but rather look at how your body works and what you expect of it. I will look at your occupation, posture, exercise (or lack of it), diet and case history. Importantly, I ask my patients to interact with their treatment - for example, by following advice about exercise - rather than being passive.

I use a variety for methods to help achieve improved health: such as mobilisation, manipulation, soft tissue techniques, dry needling, sports taping, cranial osteopathy and postural and exercise advice.

Testimonials

I have always suffered from headaches, regularly resorting to over-the-counter and prescribed pain relief. I have been given various reasons for the headaches but never a cure. I am 56 and had become really miserable at the constant strain of living with head pain.

I had my first treatment from Jenny and felt the benefits immediately. I felt as if it was the first time in years that I had been free of any headache and could stand with my back straight and my shoulders relaxed. I have had massage before with little noticeable change but this treatment felt very different Jenny gave me advice as to how to tackle the onset of a headache and since that first treatment my headaches have improved beyond belief. I used to think my headaches would always be a constant, painful part of my life - now I cannot remember the last time I had one.

Alison Herrmann

I spend long periods of time at a computer and because of this and the stress of meeting tight deadlines, I experienced a lot of pain in my neck, shoulder and arm. I had little movement in my neck and was having difficulty turning my head. I was experiencing discomfort at night while sleeping. I saw a physiotherapist, who said there was no serious damage. However, after only a few sessions with Jenny, things got sorted through massage and manipulation. She gave me a series of exercises to do, which I still do, and recommended a pilates class. I have not had any trouble since. I think anyone who spends a long period of time in front of a computer should see an osteopath regularly to ensure they are not doing any lasting damage due to stress and poor posture.

Dr. Gill Craig

I went with a great deal of lower back pain and I had not been able to move easily for weeks. Following treatment I was a bit sore for 12 hours, but then the pain disappeared and movement returned. It was as if the problem had never been there at all, plus I have had no problems since, quite amazing!
