Receiving Shiatsu is a fantastic way to connect and work with what’s really going on for you, not just what’s presented on the surface. Each session is a completely individual experience for the client, and I work intuitively to support, nourish and engage with the client; to meet them in the most appropriate way for whatever is going on for them in that moment.

"In my practice, I support clients through careful listening, and application of many years of training and practice to:
  • Restore, maintain and promote good health

  • Get you back to health as quickly as possible
  • Establish equilibrium within the body

Shiatsu is a safe, clothed, form of body work, where I work with the client to re-balance energies within the body, releasing tensions where there has been a build-up, or restoring energies where there has been depletion.

About Shiatsu

Originating in Japan, and translating as "finger pressure", Shiatsu is a deep and powerful way to work with imbalances, difficulties or discomfort in our physical or emotional selves.

Shiatsu works an energy system of "Ki" or "chi" in the body, which is similarly used in acupuncture.

Shiatsu is practised by touch through clothing, to connect with the energy meridians. Using hands, or fingers, points can be pressed, meridian chi is supported to flow, and joints or limbs can be stretched or rotated to encourage the smooth flow of Ki throughout the system.

Each treatment is tailored exactly to the clients needs. No two treatments are the same, and I have no "fixed routine" for any one particular condition or situation. Each client is encouraged to share their experience through a consultation process so we can work together to support a journey to better health, and wellbeing

As practitioners, we are trained to recognise how to support or challenge our clients in moving into a better state of wellbeing. We use a wide range of techniques, along with a good understanding of western medicine anatomy, physiology and pathology.

The underlying principle of Shiatsu treatment is that illness and pain occur when the body's ki, or vital energy, cannot flow freely. There can be many reasons for this; emotional and physical stress, poor nutrition, infection or injury are among the most common. By working specific acupressure points or Ki meridians, shiatsu seeks to re-establish the free flow of Ki to restore balance and trigger the body's natural healing response

What to expect

Shiatsu is a treatment where the client remains clothed, and takes place on a futon on the floor. (other arrangements can be made if this is uncomfortable or difficult)

Sessions start with a consultation for you to share what's going on for you and to explore what you would like from your treatment. I may ask you questions about your medical history, lifestyle and current situation. The initial consultation will be followed by a treatment tailored to meet your needs as identified through the consultation. No two treatments are the same. Follow on sessions have a shorter consultation to allow maximum time for the treatment.

Please bring or wear loose comfortable long-sleeved clothing, and avoid eating for at least 30 minutes prior to a treatment.

Wellbeing Breaks in Morocco

This year I am delighted to be offering some Wellbeing Breaks in Morocco.

I invite you to join me in a beautiful Hotel in the foothills of the Atlas mountains, 20 minutes from Marrakech.

Here you can unwind in peace beneath the African sun, be nourished with personal shiatsu treatments, daily classes in a variety of healing exersies, (Qigong, makka-ho, Do-in) eat delicious local food, and explore the surrounding Berber village, and walk into the mountains. And if all that relaxing and nourishment is too much, then join a trip to the coast for Qigong on the beach, or a potter through the souks and medinas of Marrakech.
