Your first initial consultation is completely free of charge. Simon is an NHS Practitioner, with over 20 years experience in a wide variety of complementary therapies. He has been running 'Hands of Light' for 12 years, and works throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians.
In addition to his local client-base, Simon provides contract services for UK wide Festivals as well as Film and Television companies.

I provide a wide range of complementary therapies in a friendly and informal setting; including Acupuncture, Therapeutic Massage, Sports Injury Therapy, Counselling, Hypnotherapy, Bach Flower Remedies and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
I also use Electro-acupuncture, Electrial Muscle Stimulation, TENS, Low Level Laser Therapy and Infrared Heat Therapy
Where necessary I combine the physical therapies with gentle herbal medicines.
I specialise in chronic and neuropathic pain and emotional problems associated with anxiety and depression, as well as having a close interest in Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome.

My specialist counselling skills lie in the fields of:

- drug / alcohol use.
I utilise person-centered counselling techniques according to the Egan model, as well as cognitive behavoural therapy. I have had notable successes helping those with chaotic lifestyles, loss of direction, career problems and work/life balance. When necessary I can complement sessions with hypnotherapy.
Where appropriate, I also use modern western medicine including laser therapy, ultrasound and TENS. I also provide good and basic foot health care and general healthy lifestyle and nutritional advice.
I will recommend what I think is the best therapy for you but the choice is always yours.
About Me
I like to work in close partnership with your Hospital Doctor, GP, Community Pharmacist, Physiotherapist and Chiropodist. As in all of my work with clients however, the choice is yours and I will NEVER discuss your case without your express permission.
Most of my services are provided by travelling to your own home. Your first initial consultation is completely free of charge.
I do reserve the right to refuse treatment, if, in my opinion, it is important and in your best interests to see a qualified Doctor first.
Whilst treatment sessions last approximately one to two hours, I never limit the time that my client requires. Clients are also able to telephone me free-of charge for information, support or advice at any suitable time.
Charges vary in line with the cost of providing the therapy, the time required and the distance travelled. I am however a strong believer in making charges affordable to the individual.
Where clients are female and may have qualms about being treated by a male therapist, I welcome a partner, friend, parent or other relative to sit in on all consultations and treatments. Where it is necessary to discuss confidential medical information, this will, of course be carried out in complete privacy.
I take a personal pride in my extensive training, complemented by over twenty years of clinical practice. My qualifications, memberships and insurance certificates are on display for clients to see at any time.
Practitioners are judged by their results and over 90% of my clients come to me having received word of mouth recommendations from previous clients and their relatives. The remainder are largely referred by doctors and other practitioners.
I discourage long-term therapies, encouraging the client to be proactive in their own recovery, and I aim to enable the client to regain independence in the shortest possible time.
