SERVICES

Welcome to Hancocks Hypnotherapy

Feeling anxious? Want to lose weight or get rid of that phobia? Are you failing to achieve your full potential in life, business or sport? Feeling worried about childbirth, whether as a mum or father-to-be?

All of these issues and more can be addressed harnessing the power of your mind via hypnotherapy. In fact the answer to many of your difficulties could be just a few hours away.

The following are just a few of the issues that can be addressed using hypnotherapy:
  • Anger

We've all seen the driver raging at traffic lights when they've changed to red, or perhaps we've done it ourselves. However it shows itself, inappropriate anger can be distressing for the sufferer and those around them. It's a classic sign that someone has lost control on a subconscious level or that someone is feeling stress. It can be immensely liberating to rid yourself of this emotion

  • Anxiety

One of the most common problems seen in the consulting room, when the mind goes into hyper-vigilant mode; can occur in certain situations or be a general state of mind.

  • Depression
Another problem regularly seen. Can exist on its own or in concert with anxiety and/or anger or other issues such as drinking, weight, insomnia or lack of confidence

  • Phobias

There are something of the order of 2,000 named phobias. Can be hugely limiting for the sufferer. Hypnotherapy, as it deals with the subconscious impulses surrounding the phobia, has a good success rate in helping people overcome their irrational fears

  • Smoking

The subconscious has a major role in play in making people carry on smoking. Again, hypnotherapy has a good track record in helping people rid themselves of this dangerous, unpleasant and expensive habit

  • Weight problems - this includes wanting to increase as well as decrease weight

  • OCD

Sufferers in the past include Florence Nightingale while several modern-day sports stars are said to have the condition. The emphasis during treatment is on helping you regain control of your life.

  • Nailbiting, hair-pulling and other unwanted habits

a large number of clients have reported big improvements to their lives, simply by conquering the unwanted compulsion to chew or nibble their nails. It can be amazing how easily some unwanted habits respond to treatment.

  • Childbirth

Birth can be one of the most amazing experiences in a parent's life. However, negative modern propaganda has helped shaped a view of childbirth that can help create a fearful state, thus ensuring birth is painful, protracted with a high risk of intervention by medics. It doesn't have to be like this. Hypnosis for childbirth helps you take control of the birthing process so it can be the wonderful event it is meant to be.

  • Alcohol and drug dependency

Can create a vicious circle where the user is using drink/drugs to relieve anxiety or find happiness only to find more and more is needed simply to experience the same effect. Why not break the circle with hypnotherapy?

You may be amazed at your untapped potential and find that when underlying subconscious issues are resolved your life is transformed. As an example, someone who has suffered from a debilitating phobia can find that they have the confidence to take up a new job, move house or simply enjoy life much more once their phobia is addressed. Reducing anxiety can also have an incredible effect on your life, helping you achieve a good night's sleep or help you find calm and control in situations which you would never have thought possible.

It's important to emphasise that hypnotherapy is not a matter of a therapist taking control away from you, the client; instead it is about the therapist helping you to take control of your life, whether it be the ability to quit smoking, pass a driving test or many other areas.

I offer therapy that uses your abilities and resources to create the outcomes you want. I work with people who have a huge range of issues ranging from anxiety to phobias or depression to pain management. Whatever the issue, be it insomnia, obsessive behaviours or trauma, you will not be the first to have suffered from this problem or something similar.

The emphasis is on helping you make changes to your life quickly. That said, some issues can be dealt with in just a few sessions whereas others will take longer.

Progress is reviewed regularly as we go along.

Smoking is dealt with in a single session lasting 90 minutes to two hours.

One important thing to remember is that while hypnotherapy can make huge differences to your life, your input is a vital part of the therapy
