Safe and effective natural treatments for pain, sports injuries, fertility and women's health issues, headaches, insomnia and a range of stress related conditions. www.acupunctureNI.com
My interest in Chinese medicine started with my studies in the Chinese exercise systems of Tai Chi Chuan and Qi Gong, which I have practised for nearly 20 years. In my clinic I provide Traditional Chinese acupuncture and massage and naturopathy; treating the root cause of health problems by changes in diet, exercise and lifestyle, and by the use of holistic and natural therapies.
Tuina is Chinese therapeutic massage. Not well known in N. Ireland, it is one of the oldest massage systems in the world, being over 2,000 years old. Used in hospitals throughout China, it can treat muscular pain, such as back, neck, shoulders, carpal tunnel, tennis elbow, as well as insomnia, headaches and abdominal disorders. Or just as stress relief.
Naturopathy is a system of healthcare which encourages and promotes the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
As a naturopath I aim to identify the underlying cause of the imbalance in the body and use a range of therapies to treat the whole person. These may include advice and support on lifestyle changes, diet, exercise, and supplements for example, as well as acupuncture, auricular acupuncture, cupping, or moxabustion.
I also incorporate exercises from nearly 20 years of study and practise of tai chi and Qi Gong.
The World Health Organisation has endorsed acupuncture as effective treatment for more than 28 conditions including:
- anxiety & stress,
- arthritis, back pain, muscular pains, sciatica, sports injuries,
- digestive disorders, e.g. IBS,
- insomnia, headaches
- menstrual & menopause problems, PMT
