SERVICES
Welcome to Sharron Barton Registered OsteopathRegistered structural and cranial osteopath - Sports injury and massage therapist.
Osteopathy is a distinct approach to health care based on a well-established system of clinical diagnosis. Osteopaths focus on the structure of the body, using safe, natural, manual treatment, which offers a caring approach to the individual needs of each patient – at all stages of life from birth to old age.
Predominantly gentle manipulative techniques are used to correct joint and tissue imbalances, allowing restoration of harmony within the patient’s body. We treat the individual and not just the specific disorder with our objective being the promotion of long-term health to people of all ages.
Some common conditions we treat on a regular basis are:
- Back pain
- Neck ache
- Joint pain
- Muscle spasms
- Arthritic pain
- Rheumatic pain
- Minor sports injuries
- Whiplash
- Sciatica
- Circulatory problems
- Digestion problems
- Inability to sleep
- Lumbago
- Fibromyalgia
- Neuralgia
- Cramp
About Us Having seen the positive life changing results from osteopathic treatments I instantly knew that I wanted to change from my successful career in the insurance industry to osteopathy where I could make a positive difference to a person’s well being.
In August 2009 I was privileged to be able to present a paper to the 2009 International Sports Biomechanics Conference in Limerick, speaking alongside internationally renowned Research Professionals and International Sports Coaches.
I have also been fortunate that I have been able to experience working as a sports therapist for the Dover Rugby Union 1st Team, where I specialised in impact and sport related injuries. In recognition of my efforts I was honoured to represent the high profile ‘Help the Heroes’ national rugby festival as the Home Office’s sports therapist.
I am equally at home treating a 3-week-old baby, a fit rugby player to those entering their twilight years and believe that each patient should be treated as an individual.
