SERVICES

Welcome to Enniskillen Chiropractic Clinic

Chiropractic as it is known today was re-invented by D. D. Palmer in 1895 and it has grown ever since to be the third largest independent healing profession in the western world, after medicine and dentistry. Statutory Registration of qualified Chiropractors commenced in the middle of 1999, thereby assuring patients that they receive proper care for their complaints by a fully qualified Chiropractor, who has completed at least 4 years full-time education.

Chiropractic specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of conditions, which are due to mechanical dysfunction of the joints and their effects upon the nervous system.

In chiropractic the emphasis is on prevention and 'adjustment'. According to the condition being treated one or more of a whole range of different chiropractic adjusting techniques can be employed.

With these, your chiropractor effects an improvement in your joint's mobility, as well as nerve and muscle function. Yours body's own healing process (which we normally recognise in its ability to heal bruises, cuts and broken bones) will then be able to continue the task of restoring your health.

Chiropractic is based on a very simple concept. Your body is literally a 'machine'. It has power sources, wiring, electricity and lubrication. However, like all machines it also has a mechanical structure. That mechanical structure, with the spine as its most important support and carrier of the major nervous system, can become damaged, distorted or irritated. The result is often acute or nagging pain, which you may feel not only in the back but also in the head, neck, arms and legs. Your Chiropractor has the training and experience to treat people with these conditions.

My name is Jørgen Pedersen and I am a fully qualified Chiropractor, currently a full member of the British Chiropractic Association and an associate member of the Danish Chiropractors Association.

At the end of July 1999 I obtained registration with the General Chiropractic Council. As a result of registration it is now a criminal offence to practice Chiropractic without being a registered Chiropractor. The council ensures that registered chiropractors adhere to a strict code of practice and ethics. In order to maintain registration with the General Chiropractic Council, all chiropractors must complete a certain number of post-graduate training hours every year, currently 30 hours.

I qualified in 1986 from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in Bournemouth. Following my graduation I returned to Denmark to complete my compulsory internship with Dr. Kim Delmar in Odense. Later on I worked for about two and a half year in Fredericia running a clinic there. In October 1989 I took up a position as associate chiropractor with Dr. Dominic Humphries with the aim to develop Enniskillen Chiropractic Clinic to a full time practice.

When I arrived in Enniskillen the clinic was only open 2 days per week and within 6 months the clinic was open 5 days per week seeing on average 75 patients per week. Since then the clinic has continued to expand and in October 1996 a branch was opened in Monaghan, providing treatment for patients in the Monaghan area, with difficulty in travelling to Enniskillen. This clinic is open every Thursday morning between 9 am and 2 pm.

In the Spring of 2002 the clinic had outgrown its location at 22 New Street and moved to new premises at 31 Mill Street. This new clinic is located on the ground floor with easy access for disabled patients and those having difficulty climbing stairs due to pain. It also provides more space for storage and there are potential for further clinic developments in the future.

In addition to provide treatment to suffering patients, a small stock of well designed pillows, sitting wedges, lumbar rolls, back and arm supports, nutritional supplements, re-useable ice packs and BioFreeze gel are for sale at lowest possible prices. Please contact the clinic for further information on latest prices.
