SERVICES
Complementary therapies aim to enhance health and well-being by encouraging the body's natural ability to heal as well as working along side your current conventional medical care.

As a complementary therapist I understand that each person is an individual and has specific requirements, therefore time is taken to ensure the right treatment is chosen, provided and a suitable follow up treatment plan is discussed.

My work is very holistic in its approach, taking into account you as a whole person including physical complaints, your emotional state and other influences that may be affecting your health.

Aromatherapy uses concentrated essential oils extracted from areas of plants such as the petals, leaves, roots and resin.

These oils have many different properties for example, energising, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, relaxing, uplifting
and soothing.

Your first appointment will include a consultation and together we will select oils most suitable for you to help improve either emotional and/or your physical health and introduce them to the body through massage and inhalations.

Aromatherapy can have a variety of benefits and is suitable for those with sensitive skin:
improve muscle tone, joint mobility, flexibility, posture and balance
reduce muscle tension, fatigue, aches and pains
increase blood supply to the skin which in turn helps cell regeneration and elasticity and overall appearance of the skin
create a feeling of relaxation and increased well-being by soothing the nervous system
may also be effective at relieving skin complaints such as dry skin, acne, eczema and psoriasis
through inhalations the essential oils can work with those experiencing anxiety, depression, sleeping problems, stress, headaches and many more other symptoms

Treatment times can be from 30 minutes up to 90 minutes.

Aromatherapy is suitable in pregnancy as lower concentrations of oils are used and massage positioning can be adjusted to ensure you and baby are comfortable and safe.

Sports and remedial massage is not just for the sporty amongst us. People who work long hours sat at a desk or driving a car or those carrying out repetitive movements on a building site or whilst gardening for example are just as likely to have muscular problems.

Massage can be used to treat pain, injuries, poor posture, muscle tightness, scar tissue and poor flexibility as well as for those who have a problem with sport related injury.

Hands on techniques are incorporated and adapted to suit you including posture assessment, soft tissue release, trigger points, muscle energy, stretching, deep tissue and general massage.

Although the techniques can be very deep and at times uncomfortable, I will always work with you and you pain levels. May aim is to make the treatment as relaxing as possible whilst making sure we are still being effective. many clients find the whole experience a very useful way to unwind.

Following an in depth consultation a treatment programme will be designed to look at the causes of the symptoms as well as how you can avoid the problem in the first place. It is likely that more than one treatment will be necessary, especially for long term or chronic problems.

Please wear or bring a pair of shorts with you.

Reflexology uses massage and specific pressure techniques over the feet, lower leg or hands to bring about positive change in another part of the body.

As well as deeply relaxing, the aim is to restore and maintain balance within the body and to encourage the body’s natural healing process.

Reflexology is a non-intrusive therapy suitable for people of all ages from babies to those receiving end of life care.

A course of treatments is recommended in the first instance in order to have the most beneficial results, with the aim to receive ‘maintenance’ treatments once your health has improved.
