BEING WELL

Wellness is not something that I take for granted. Being well often means finding ways to self-care for our bodies, our minds and our need as humans for meaningful connections.

The World Health Organisation defines health as;
‘A state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity’

My view of working with health fits this definition. I am not willing just to helping someone remove disease, or fix symptoms, but to address all aspects of physical, mental and social wellbeing. My training and my ethics help me to address all of these and I use a combination of styles dependant on what is required.

BEING WELL WITH NATUROPATHY

I have worked with many health conditions with a vast number of clients. I am willing to work with any person, as for me it is the person I am working with, not the disease. Some examples of some of the conditions my clients may suffer from:

• Digestive complaints and conditions- such as irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerative colitis, crohn's disease, coeliac disease, digestive symptoms such as bloating, flatulence and nausea, gall bladder disease, liver conditions, food intolerances and allergies

• Autoimmune conditions-rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondilitis, SLE, hashimoto’s thyroiditis and others

• Allergies -hayfever, contact dermatitis, food allergies, asthma
• Skin conditions-eczema, psoriasis, dry skin, adult acne, rashes of unknown origin

• Women's health issues-PCOS, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, amenorrhea, delayed ovulation, long luteal cycles, PMS, increased FSH, menopause and the associated symptoms, dysmenorrhoea and painful periods.

• Sub fertility issues- natural support throughout the IVF process, Pre-conception care, ageing ovaries, low sperm counts and motility

• Pregnancy and lactation- dietary advice throughout pregnancy, prevention of pre-eclampsia, lactation support

• Eating disorders and disordered eating- binge eating disorder, anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, unhealthy relationship with food

• Children and babies-fussy eaters, colic, digestive complaints, skin problems, autism, ADD and ADHD

• Mental health- anxiety, panic attacks, low grade depression, worry, sleeplessness, lack of concentration.

ABOUT ME

I am an Australian-trained Naturopath that now lives and works in London. Over the years I have developed a strong sense of passion for the natural world, for the incredibility of the human spirit and the longing that we all have to grow and be well and whole.

After my life experiences, I realised that in the process of healing, human compassion and connection is an integral part of the process and I found naturopathy as a way of empowering myself and others to take fuller responsibility for an empowered journey to health.

WHAT I PRACTICE

I am fully trained Australian Naturopath- which means I practice nutritional therapy, western herbal medicine, counselling and lifestyle medicine as my main modalities. I am also trained in psychotherapeutic modalities, hypnotherapy, bodywork and other touch therapies.

WHAT TO EXPECT

My initial consultation takes approximately an hour. In this time I will focus on your health issue, your medical history, your lifestyle, food choices and any relevant information that we may need. Once we have a full understanding of your bigger health picture, we can look at ways together to move you back into the direction of wellness- and we can use the modalities that suit you best. Whether that is lifestyle changes, dietary changes, herbal medicine, supplements, and medical intervention or talking therapies I am there to help you make informed health choices, and use all the options that are available to you- even if it means using other health professionals.

The amount of consultations you require depends on the journey we plan together, sometimes it is only a couple, and sometimes it may a few more before we find your balance.

Coming to see a Naturopath often means your life is ready for change in one way or another. I will help you to make goals, make changes and make a stand for your wellbeing and life.
