About Me

I am a registered Craniosacral Therapist offering treatments in Kentish Town and Primrose Hill, London. I completed my diploma at the College of Cranio-Sacral Therapy in London and have since completed a wide range of postgraduate trainings (see below) to deepen my work in this field. I am a professional member of the Craniosacral Therapy Association and hold professional and public liability insurance.

As well as a practicing therapist, I am a tutor on the 2 Year Diploma in Cranio-Sacral Therapy at the College of Cranio-Sacral Therapy and previously assisted for 2 years on the Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology foundation course.

Who is Craniosacral Therapy for?

Adults, babies and children. Adults and children receive CST for a wide variety of health concerns, both physical and psycho-emotional. For example chronic or acute pain (e.g. back and shoulder pain, neck pain, frozen shoulder etc), RSI, psycho-emotional issues, digestive problems, insomnia, anxiety and other stress related problems, nervous system dysfunction and disorders, migraine, TMJ and other emotional tensions.

As Craniosacral Therapy compliments the body’s own natural processes, many people also have treatments to maintain their health and as preventative measure.

CST is also used widely for resolving birth trauma, shock and other early childhood conditions following difficult births. It is especially helpful for mothers to receive treatment as well as babies, as the effects of the birth are usually carried by both. CST is particularly good for babies due to its gentle and non-invasive approach.

What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle and safe, light-touch body therapy that releases tensions held deep in the central nervous system and in the different tissues of the body, so that every other system in your body can correct itself and function more efficiently, naturally freeing yourself from pain, stress and discomfort.

In releasing tensions in the nervous system, emotional tensions embedded within the body can also be freed, be they fresh - such as everyday stresses, or long standing maybe even hidden - from previous traumatic events. On a physical level, releasing tensions in the nervous system and in the body's tissues can bring relief to stresses held in muscles and organs throughout the body. Through a technique called 'fascial unwinding' tensions held deep in the fascia of the body (fascia is a cling-film-like tissue, that wraps just about everything in your body, from nerve cells to organs to muscles), relieving recent or chronic pain and immobility of limbs, joints and even organs caused by accidents, injuries or postural imbalances.

What happens during a treatment?

A Craniosacral Therapy session begins with taking a case history and discussing what you would like to gain from the treatment. You then lie down, fully clothed, face up on the treatment table (unless this is inappropriate such as during the later stages of pregnancy or due to postural discomfort in which case you may lie on your side, be propped up with pillows or seated on a chair), and I begin the treatment by placing my hands very gently on your body, usually beginning with the feet.

From here the session unfolds in it’s own unique way, depending on your specific needs and what tensions, restrictions and focal points are revealed. I will gently place my hands on different areas of your body, all of which are comfortable with very little pressure, each time sensing where there are tensions and restrictions and working with your own inner resources to free them and bring your body and mind back to a more balanced, comfortable and stress-free state.

What will I experience?

People’s experiences of treatments vary, although most feel a sense of deep relaxation and calm and a ‘letting go’ of worries, stresses and tensions held throughout day-to-day living. You may feel tingling sensations, pulsations, heat, a sense of your body softening and becoming heavier or lighter, or you may even drift off to sleep. Some people see images, or colours; some remember long forgotten memories. Each individual will be different.

How may sessions will I need?

The number of treatments needed depends on many factors, so varies from person to person, and could be from one to many, depending on the type and depth of the issue. Some people find that their situation is resolved after one session.

As a general rule, three to six sessions will make a significant impact on most people’s health, and in some cases only one session can make a dramatic difference. Other people will need regular treatment for longer periods of time.

How much is a session?

I offer competitive rates with block booking discounts available for blocks of 3 or 6 sessions.

Concessions are also offered for those on income support, proof required.
