SERVICES

Welcome to Classic Therapies

Treat the whole person - not just the symptom, this is the basic tenant of “Holistic” medicine
Weston medical thinking is only just starting to realise that Eastern medical techniques, which have been developed ovr 7000 years, are effective The welfare of the whole person, mental, physical and spiritual are intimately tied up with the health of that person. Holistic healing, where the client is involved with the whole process often leads to self healing through the balance of the body being re-established. Most of the ills of today are ccuised by the balance of the body being out of kilter. Stress, pollution, the strains of a modern rapid lifestyle, low level mental health problems such as depression all contribute to poor health. Any treatments which restore the body’s equilibrium, their “Wal” (which is the centre of quietness within), can have spectacular results in improving health.
We are now pleased to introduce Reiki and Counselling into our list of therapies.

Please welcome Sarah Willcocks a Reiki Practitioner and holder of an Advanced Certificate in Counselling Studies.

Treatments

Aromatherapy

The physical benefits of Aromatherapy massage are the feelings of being comforted, cared for and a sense of well being which is surely unique.

Aromatherapy massage is "hands on", it's an art that operates through the empathy between the person giving the massage and the person receiving it.

Each blend of oil is individually determined by the scents the recipient prefers and by the desired effect, whether it is to relieve ailments, to pamper with an aromatic beauty treatment, or simply to ease tension with a full body massage.

Reflexology

By massaging the reflex areas of the feet, Reflexologists treat symptoms in parts of the body they claim to be related to those areas.
Exactly what happens when reflex areas are massaged are not fully understood, and cannot be explained scientifically.

The feet are mirrors of the body.

Different parts of the sole and foot connect to such organs as the bladder, kidneys and lungs. Reflexology is about the giving and receiving of re-balancing vital energies which when blocked will stop the body functioning correctly, it is also total relaxation helping the body to heal itself.

Indian Head Massage

This Ayurvedic head massage, traditionally used by Indian women to keep their hair lustrous and healthy, is said to relax the thin layer of muscle covering the head, improving blood flow, nourishing hair follicles and alleviating anxiety and stress.

Therapists massage the shoulders and head with firm and gentle strokes, using warm oil (coconut, sesame, almond or olive). Sessions last 20-30 mins and are usually weekly.

Most doctors consider the therapy to be harmless and relaxing.

Swedish Massage

Per Henrik Ling's "Swedish movement treatment", grounded in anatomy, forms the basis for the techniques used in the West today, which are often still referred to as Swedish massage. Ling laid great emphasis on therapeutic massage, or "medical gymnastics", to stimulate the functioning of the body.

Developed in the 19th century this massage is therapeutic and exercises muscles and joints.

Reiki

Whilst Reiki is very effective, it is not a miracle cure, but the effects of Reiki treatments build up cumulatively. To experience the full benefit of Reiki we would recommend more than one session. In our experience a few treatments are usually enough to sort out stress, tension, anxiety, sleeplessness and emotional problems, physical issues can take a little longer, but not always.

There are 5 Reiki Principles:
    Do not anger.
    Do not worry.
    Be humble.
    Be honest in your work.
Be compassionate to yourself and others.
Each session approx 1 hr - £35.00
