SERVICES

Welcome to Caroline Huish Hypnotherapy

My name is Caroline Huish and I am a Clinical Hypnotherapist covering the Yate and Bristol area. The clinic is based in the beautiful and peaceful conservation village of Iron Acton in South Gloucestershire.

I am dedicated to helping and supporting you to achieve your goals and make the desired changes in your life. I believe that everyone is unique and individual; therefore each session is tailored around you and your own specific needs. I can help and support you to overcome a wide range of challenges utilising your own skills, strengths and resources.

Please take a look at the “What can hypnotherapy treat?” page to see a sample of the type of difficulties that hypnotherapy can deal with quickly and effectively. It is not an exhaustive list, so if you would like to ask me about whether a particular problem or difficulty can successfully be treated using Hypnotherapy, then please contact me by phone or email.

Following good practice, I always offer a FREE Initial Consultation (except for stop smoking sessions). This provides the opportunity for you to find out what Hypnotherapy is all about, and whether it is suitable for you and your needs.

The Health Education Authority has said:
'Research shows that there is more scientific evidence for Hypnotherapy than any other Complementary Therapy… by using hypnosis people can perform prodigious feats of will-power and self healing'.

What is Hypnotherapy?

Within the subconscious mind lies our emotions, memories, our automatic body responses, habit patterns and our most deeply held beliefs about ourselves and what we believe is possible for us. It is these deeply held patterns and beliefs that drive our decisions and shape our lives and the quality of our perceptions. When we desire to make a lasting, positive change in our lives, it is these subconscious patterns that we must change.

Hypnotherapy is a safe, proven and effective tool for directly accessing the power of the subconscious mind.

Hypnotherapy is a collaborate effort with us working together in partnership to make positive changes and to achieve your agreed goals. This is achieved through hypnosis which will enable and empower you to bring about the positive changes and positive outcomes that you desire.

Hypnotherapy uses a light trance to allow your mind and body to achieve a state of deep relaxation. During this relaxed state, your mind can let go of any anxieties and enter a powerful goal-orientated and solution-based approach. Hypnotherapy enables you to find solutions and change negative thought patterns into positive ones.

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a natural and pleasant state of mind and body which we all enter from time to time. If you have ever lost yourself in a good book or film, or realised you can't remember driving the last mile home, then you have probably been in a hypnotic state!

During hypnosis the body and the conscious mind are in a relaxed, natural state. Whilst in this state the subconscious mind can be very receptive to beneficial suggestions and will accept directions which can promote positive change.

No one can make you go into a trance against your will. You will always be aware of what is happening around you and you will always be in control.

About Caroline

I have spent most of my career working within Bristol's voluntary sector, either as a volunteer or in a salaried position. My main area of focus has been working with children and young people with disabilities and working with the various voluntary sector organisations who help and support the children and their families.

I became interested in hypnotherapy when I visited a local hypnotherapist regarding weight loss some years ago and was absolutely blown away by the results that were achieved. I was inspired to find out more, and after much research, I decided to take a change in direction and train to become a hypnotherapist myself.

I trained at the highly accredited Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training School in Bristol where I gained a Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy (DHP) and also the Hypnotherapy Practitioners Diploma (HPD). This is the first, nationally accredited Diploma in Hypnotherapy. It is accredited jointly by the National Council for Hypnotherapy and NCFE.

I thoroughly enjoy working as a clinical hypnotherapist. It is an immensely rewarding and satisfying career which gives me huge work satisfaction. I love seeing the changes within people as they make positive progress with their difficulties.

I am a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) one of the main professional bodies for hypnotherapy in the UK, and abide by their strict code of conduct and ethics. I continue to update and enhance my skills through Continual Professional Development and regularly attend supervision, training courses and conferences.
